I met the author at a Christmas market and I bought this book from him to support! I didn’t think I would LOVE it like I do, the whole time reading I definitely felt as if I was physically there, the details in this book was amazing. Can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out!

This fast paced historical fiction will put you right on the deck of a pirate ship, complete with gripping action, historical and nautical realness and an anti-hero with a true heart for people. I loved how the author used true terminology and historically accurate language and details and that made this read steeped in not only the excitement of the story but learning new things about ships, sailing, navigating, privateering and more. The FMC is a formidable character and her drive for justice is really at the heart of this book. I am really appreciative of how the author took such a dark and volatile time in history with the slave trade and showed how people fought back and empowered others to fight back as well. In addition to all of this, the actual storyline is so compelling, I finished it in two sittings. I couldn't wait to see what pirating Raven and her crew of Kings were going to do next. Excited to dive into book two and continue this incredible historically accurate fictional tale!
