Overall this is a great book and series. I enjoy how inclusive these books are. The adventure, magic and the world building.

What I didn't love about this one, was more of the political court stuff, I was skimming a lot of that part. So many names to keep track of so I didn't.

But Nasima is a wonderful character, I really enjoy reading her. And her romance was so sweet, I was totally rooting for them!

This second installment of the Threads of Destiny series continues to bring life to the beautiful world Jones has created. We met Nasima in Love in the Face of Death, but nothing could have prepared me for the depth of the internal struggles she was facing.

The battle between Nasima’s sense of duty and her own personal desires was a constant driving force throughout the story that manifested in her struggle with anxiety, which was painfully relatable. We often see book heroines portrayed as seemingly invincible and unflappable, but getting to see Nasima’s internal conflicts and struggles made her character feel so much more authentic. Her self-doubt made her victories even more sweet, and it made her easy to root for.

One of my favorite things about this world Jones has created is how openly queer it is, and The Echo of Stars in Water is no exception. It is so refreshing to be able to read an epic fantasy with both a female lead and a female love interest. Nasima and Cas’s chemistry was off the charts, and their flirtations banter had me giggling regularly. It was both surprising and delightful to see that no one in this world batted an eye at two women being in love, when so often queer love stories are fraught with strife from homophobic characters.

This story had everything I could have wanted: adventure, romance, diversity, mental health representation, and a strong female lead who is willing to embrace her struggles and fight for the ones she loves. I cannot wait to see where this epic journey takes us next!

This is the second book of the eight book series that revolves around Nazima who lost her mother, her powers and her left arm four years ago in a devastating storm. However, she and the other blessed ones on the island got their powers back recently, yet she still feels consumed by the weight of her heartache. Join Nasima in this gripping story where she is sent on a harrowing journey to another kingdom.

Y'all not only does this book have an absolutely gorgeous cover but it is easily the most unique YA fantasy I have read recently. I was hooked right from the start. The narration was so engaging and the world building was absolutely perfect. It has lots of thing going on and it's very easy to lose myself in this magical world and the adventure of the characters. I will definitely recommend this book if you are into magic and fantasy, can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey so far, I am SO excited to release book two into the world!!

After experiencing heartbreak and trauma, Nasima is forced to step up into a leadership role that she does not feel prepared for and it's a story I think we can all relate to.

It's a journey about healing and coming to terms with the range of emotions that come from processing trauma. They often create more conflict than comfort and I know that, personally, I've had to learn to not label them as "good" or "bad" emotions. They just are what they are and we do our best when dealing with them.

(I never thought I'd be celebrating the fact that I made my readers cry, but here we are!)

The Threads of Destiny series is a thoughtfully interwoven fantasy story. The characterization is inclusive and fresh. This story reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean meets Indiana Jones with courts, crowns, and gods and goddesses. The path that drives these books forward becomes increasingly clear, yet the new predicaments that arise keep you reading on. I highly recommend these books to people who value fantasy, representation, action, romance, and a strongly descriptive world.

The second book in this series was another home run! This book is about a strong female main character named Nasima. Again, if you love fantasy, adventure and a love story, this is the book for you. Nasima and Cas’s relationship is adorable! Not only does this novel include the previous but also shows how Nasima battles with anxiety and her feelings. I cannot wait to read the next installment!!!

As much as I loved the first book, I loved this one more! This story continues to evolve and pull me in. I loved how it focused on different characters from the first story instead of just following the protagonist from the first book. I am excited to read the next one and cannot wait to see how all of it comes together in the end!

Nasima is a baddie! Her journey into standing fully in her power is so powerful. Truly. Her grief guides her journey in such a profound way, and her loyal friend-to-lover Cas hypes her up and gives her the steady support that Nasima deeply needs to wield her emotions.

The world crafted in the water blessed is so dynamic and inclusive. It shows each blessed is able to continue their line on in their own way, not just in the typical MF dynamic we so often see. Nasima steps boldly forward with her decisions.

She is the water blessed, and she is one hell of a force to be reckoned with.
