Rhea Ryan is a spicy writer of romance on the edge of dark and twisty. Each of her stories delves deep into matters of the heart and explores the darker side of human nature. After writing in the corporate world, she realized she had a desire and compulsion to write creatively. She lives in Western Canada with her husband, two young children and a fur baby.
Crazy loved the 1st book and couldn't wait to dive into this, this gave us a more detailed snippet into the Olivia situation which has hyped up my anticipation levels for the full length book to come next in this series. This was about 200 pages or so, so it was over with in a matter of moments.
It solidified even more why I've been drawn to the more broody moody twin.
I’m so glad I read this because now I’m in love in with Micah even more! This adds so much context to Pretty Little Island and why the boys are the way they are. I also learned that Olivia was not so innocent like I thought she was which made it even crazier. It makes me even more excited for the sequel to come out because now I need to know how this plays into what is happening now. Something tells me this story is about to get a lot crazier! 😅
I loved this novella! Rhea Ryan is such an amazing writer. I was wicked excited that we got to read Micah’s point of view. I also liked that we got to know more about Olivia. I’m looking forward to reading book three!
I LOVED this little novella. It opened up my eyes. Having Micahs story made me fall in love with him. Goodness. I CANT wait for the 2nd book in the Duet 😍
This is a prequel that should be read after reading Pretty Little Island.
This book is based around the Twins Micah and Maison and what actually happened with Olivia. You find out how she died and who did it. You should not know this prior to reading Pretty Little Island.
After reading Twice Love Burned I feel confident in which brother is my favorite. It’s pretty clear I made the right choice.
I gave this 4 stars because it was well written and added to the story in the way it needed too. I normally don’t rate novellas high because they are too short to for me to be obsessed and want to reread.
I am so excited to read the next book in this duet! I did give Pretty Little Island 5 stars!
Wow!! I loved Micha & Maison so it was nice seeing what really unfolded. Olivia was definitely trouble and not good person! The way she was threatening to blackmail him grossed me at! Really sucks the way it all played out and I felt so terrible for Micah! I wanted more after that ending :( this one really helped open your eyes to why the twins dynamic is the way it is. Or why Micah is so closed off even more!
Also side note, The few times there was mention of the guy Olivia was related too and having a bowtie etc.. HOW DID THEY NOT MAKE THAT CONNECTION! Ugh I still hate him and always will!
I am still not recovered from PLI, but this was exactly what I needed after reading Pretty Little Island.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
When blonde femme fatale Olivia enters stunning twins Micah and Maison’s lives, none of them will ever be the same again. This IS a love story, but there’s definitely not a happy ending and I am here for it 👏🏻
Told from Micah’s POV, there’s a lot of insight into how he and his twin respond to relationships as well as interact with each other. Deeply haunted pasts always follow you. I love a good backstory and this one’s on 🔥 (and so is the spice 🥵).
After reading Pretty Little Island, I 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐃 this 💜 It’s a short companion novella to Rhea’s amazing debut (think bonus chapter) and contains spoilers so definitely read it AFTER you read PLI. You will not regret it.
***STOP*** if you haven’t read Pretty Little Island first, don’t read this yet! Go read that then come back and read this.
This fills in so much backstory from Pretty Little Island I love it! That Olivia was trouble with a capital T and paired with the troubled twins you’re just asking for it. It really helps you to understand how complicated the relationship between Micah, Maison and London really is and why it is so. I always love getting as much backstory to characters as I can, it just really deepens whatever story I’m reading. This was awesome.
This little prequel Novella was everything I needed. I absolutely LOVED getting the backstory of the twins relationship with Olivia and I LOVED that it was from Micah’s point of view. It was so nice to get into his head. I loved that we got the full story of how all of this unfolded with the twins sharing Olivia and how and why it ended so badly. This was the perfect little bonus novella for Pretty little Island it honestly made me love Micah even more and simultaneously made my heart ACHE for him even more.
You have to read pretty little island first!! OMG so glad l got to read this book straight after pretty little island. Olivia god she was horrible, she knew what she wanted and nothing would stop her . One character l hated she played both twins . This book explains more about why Micah reacted the way he does to London. Maison wasn't the best boyfriend to Olivia, but neither was she a good girlfriend. Loved reading this book x
I read Pretty Little Island first which is the first book in the Bone Love Duet. This is actually a prequel of what happened with the boys before meeting London. I loved Pretty Little Island so it's great to learn more about the twin.
I highly recommend reading this one before Pretty Little Island. I think Pretty Little Island is a must it's one of my top favorite reads of 2023. I just loved it so much.
This is a novella that comes after Pretty Little Island. Please read that novel first, as this books contains spoilers!
This is the back story and explains what happens to Olivia. It might be a novella, but it’s full of suspense and twists and turns. I can’t wait for the second book of the duet.
I knew after I finished reading book 1, that I had to know who Olivia was, what their relationship was like with her, and wow! She’s isn’t who I thought she was AT ALL!! While this book is technically a prequel to PRETTY LITTLE ISLAND it’s actually meant to be read AFTER the 1st book. If you too need to know the ins and out then Micah’s pov in this book is def a worth wile read!
Wow this is a quick novella having a look into Maison and Micha with their history with Olivia. This is told from Micha’s POV. Im falling so much harder for Micha now. There are still unanswered questions though. Argh I want more!!!! Don’t worry there is spice.
I appreciated this short audio read so much! It puts so much into perspective and gives answers we were craving from book 1. It also brings to light why the twins’ dynamic was the way it was. The narrator’s voice was perfection for this! I really loved it!
Do Not Read Until You Have Read Pretty Little Island!!!
Although this is a prequel to book 1, you shouldn’t read it until after you have read Pretty Little Island. This book answers a lot of questions from book 1 but will also be confusing if you read it first. I loved the fact that this was from the POV of Micah and gives up an understanding of the person we met in book 1. It also gives us a look at the relationship of the boys and it gives a great insight into the closeness of the twins as well as how the fractures began. I’m loving this series and need book 2 now!!
It’s nice to have the backstory of the brothers and Olivia! I was not expecting Olivia to have the personality she did. Just makes my heart break more for Micah 💔
So we hate her right? I loved hearing the backstory of the twins, and the dynamic that was created. But we all agree right? We hate her. I need book 3 asap.
A MUST READ for those who've read Pretty Little Island! I loved diving into Micah's psyche and getting to know his perspective more intimately. Twice Love Burned offered a better understanding of the events leading to Pretty Little Island, I love getting more from characters I fell in love with.
This short novella is set before pretty little island and shows us what really happened between Micah, Maison & Olivia. It’s a great read and really allows you to see into Micah’s mind and why he is the way he is, as well as showing us a bit more into the relationship between Micah & Maison. A really good read.
I was so happy to be able to read this straight after Pretty Little Island. I wasted no time jumping straight into it. This was a great novella to fill in some gaps left by PLI. I loved having Micah's POV and Olivia was not the girl I pictured at all from the information given in PLI. Loved this.
This was such an amazing backstory to the events that lead up to the first book. You get further insight on Maison and not only his internal monologue, but his relationships with his twin brother and Olivia. Something that seems like a one off situation, turns into a long stream of messy decisions that seems like it’s unable to be stopped.
My advice going into this book would be to read book 1 Pretty Little Island first, because Twice Love Burned tells the story of the events that took place a year or so before the Plane Crash that happens in book 1. So this book delves into what happened on that fateful night Olivia was killed, and the events leading up to that night. It puts into perspective the relationship between Mason Olivia and Micah and Olivia.. Let me tell you it was toxic and Olivia is not all that innocent.. The whole audiobook is told through Micah's eyes so we don't know exactly how Mason his twin brother feels and if he suspected anything between Olivia and Micah..or what happened before she met Micah that night. But despite all of that I am so glad Rhea Ryan wrote this book to clarify a few things and the true nature of the twins game playing and Olivia's involvement with them...Plus we learn how deep the hatred between Ezra and Micah is..Its pretty deep. The entire story was Narrated by Caden Hart who is a new narrator to me I haven't listen to his voice before..I have to say he does an amazing performance and I enjoyed listening to him tell this story. Now I am so ready for book 3..this series is amazing !! And this book was so needed. Brilliant writing from Rhea Ryan. LOved it. 5 Stars.
Stop if you haven’t read Pretty Little Island first, don’t read this yet! Go read that then come back and read this.

This incredible read gives us a look into what happened between the guys and how things went down prior to Pretty Little Island. Technically this does take place before PLI, but trust me when I say you will want to read PLI first then come back to this so you can get the details of what broke the bond between the twins. Micah and Maison while they are identical their personalities are complete opposite but that doesn’t stop them from time to time switching places and that can lead to mistakes and bad things happening. I knew when I got into Pretty Little Island that I was going to have issues with the past that haunts the guys and I must say I wasn’t wrong because Olivia was just a horrible person and yes what happened was bad, but I’m sorry she was just manipulative and awful. These books brought out a lot of emotions in me as you can probably tell while I loved every bit of it, I can’t wait for what’s next!!!!
This is the prequel novella for Pretty Little Island in Rhea Ryan’s Bone Love series. I didn’t know how much I needed this back story into the twins relationship with Olivia. If you haven’t not read Pretty Little Island, you should read that before this novella.
Twice Love Burned tells the story of how Micah and Maison met Olivia, and how the little psycho turned their world upside-down. This is not a happy ending, but it is very enlightening for the events that take place in Pretty Little Island.
I can’t hardly wait for book three! Wicked Little Island releases July 11, 2024!

This is "The Bone Love Duet" Prequel. This book is short. Please read the triggers warning in this book. This book is prior, before book 1, but read Pretty Little Island, before reading this book. This was nothing , what I was expecting. If, you looking, unconventional relationship, wasn't meant to last, world shattered into pieces, emotional, sad in so many ways, insight into Olivia ,Maison, and Micah relationship (in book1)( didn't expect that relationship be like that), heartbreaking, fantastic, she's an horrible person, Give us answers about Olivia, torn twins apart, Hockey, twins, love triangle, high school, no HEA, death, kill, answers questions (about her, from book 1), twins relationship how it began, haunting, tear jerker, tragic, and so much more. I Totally Recommend, this book.
