This was a little bit of a mind bending Sci-Fi novel. This story about a man on a spaceship heading who knows where is told in snippets from multiple characters views. It takes a while to figure out why he is on this ship and why he is alone. And just when you think you know what’s happening, the story begins to diverge and things you thought you knew are presented a different way. It all comes together at the end, but before that, you get a twisty sci fi story with a sentient AI that scares you to think about, if AI were to ever become that sentient.

The story was good, though it took a while to think you had it figured out. Character development was great, the characters were well written, the world building was great, and the descriptions of the spacecraft were aptly done.

Overall, this was a highly enjoyable novel! I would recommend for any sci fi fan, and those interested in AI.

This book is not my usual genre but I'm so glad I listened to it and read it. The storyline was unpredictable, but still believable even when it seemed unrealistic. For example, if you told me how it would end I probably would have scoffed, but the author did such a brilliant job crafting the story that it made perfect sense. The only thing that stopped me from five stars was that some of the scientific explanations were long-winded. That could be an issue of personal taste, though.
