After the Exit #2

The Trouble with Enzo

Rate this book
Sometimes the easiest jobs end up being the most complicated… Viper’s not back. At least, that’s what Alina Maschik keeps saying. But when the head of MI6 requests her services, she agrees to a quick and simple job – plunging herself straight into trouble. Michael O’Reilly has a problem. His cover is close to being blown by the two people who know him and Viper best. When terrorists threaten the largest oil refinery in Europe, he’s more than ready to return to work—even if it means jumping into Viper’s hot water. From the Impressionist wing of the Philadelphia Art Museum to the streets of Rotterdam, the nation’s most deadly operatives race to unravel the truth behind three notorious mercenaries—and a smuggling operation that’s wreaking more havoc than anyone cares to admit. Foreign agents, undead assassins, an invisible criminal cabal, and the Jersey mob? Who says retirement is boring?

Viper is back? Hawk is recovering from his injuries and is unable to go into the field. Alina(Viper) misses her work and when she is asked to do a little job she agrees. While she is doing her job at the Philadelphia art museum she is seen by Michael. He knows it was her, but by the time he got to where he had seen her she was gone. Later that night when he returned to his room he finds Alina there waiting on him. She tells him that there are people looking for him and he needs to be careful. Then she leaves. All of this puts them back into the hunt for the people killing the oil executives and finding out why they are being killed.

This is a very good read. It's exciting and will keep your attention all the way to the end.

The Trouble with Enzo by CW Browning After the Exit # 2
My thoughts:
I really like the story telling ability of CW Browning and from the first chapter I was engaged with the characters and this story. Set against the back drop of current global events, this is an action-packed spy/assassin thriller, there is intrigue, cover ups, anonymous power players and the fall out of bad decisions.
Viper and Hawk are back from retirement, busy doing what they do best; gathering information using their vast network of contacts/dismantling a criminal organisation one player at a time.
We get a quick update on what is happening with the friends' group, Stephanie and Blake are married and have a baby daughter, Angela has moved to New York, Michael is trying to keep his new job a secret from his friends and Alina is in the background making sure they are all safe. This book builds on the events that happened in book 1, The Cuban, but this book can be read as a stand-alone as there is enough information to keep the story flowing. A great read.

If you enjoy action-filled spy/assassin thrillers, and you have not yet read the exit series, my suggestion would be to purchase the exit series box sets (7 books).

This book is about the adventures of characters first introduced in "Next Exit Three Miles". They thought they had successfully retired from their former life but fate has a way of dragging you back. The first thing you need to know about this novel is that it’s a great story, a must read if you like tales of assassins, terrorists, foreign agents and the Jersey mob. You will be surprised to find out what happens in "The Trouble with Enzo".

This was one of CW Browning's best books.
Of course I love Viper and I really like that she's now married to Hawk, it gives so much more
humanity to her stories.

Viper's efficiency is legendary but in this book she outdoes herself.

I liked the pace of the book, the inclusion of people from the past stories and the writing
itself is just stellar...definitely a great read!!

read to soon!

Another great book! With a great ending leading to more escapades from our favourite duo/trio plus more… hmmmm seems something else is brewing for Alina, but that could be my overactive imagination. Now the wait begins until the next instalment. May be time for another re-read of the whole series!

Loved the newest book in The Exit series. As always Viper’s escapades do not disappoint. I was jittery with anticipation with each turn of a page. It will not disappoint and you won’t be able to put it down.

Another wild ride with Viper and Hawk! This is a thrilling adventure and I love the way CW Browning ties everything so neatly together but leaves you wanting to know the next who, where and when. Looking forward to the more books in this series!
