Clive Staples Lewis was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954. He was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. The last of the Narnia novels published and chronologically. A crazed Ape finds a dead lion and skins it and wraps the skin around a donkey. The Ape then pretends Aslan has returned and starts ordering Narnians into slavery. High King Peter, Queen Lucy, King Edmund, Eustice, Jill, Digory and Polly make a return to Narnia to help the latest King of Narnia to fight the invaders that are working with the Ape to take over Narnia. Queen Susan does not return but not for the claim by Peter that she wasn’t a friend of Narnia anymore and Jill says more interested in lipstick and nylons and invitations. Aslan says on last page why they were there.
