Really enjoyed the exploration of the mythical beast. The book is beautifully illustrated with hundreds of images going back to Egypt and the way through popular culture of the day. I particularly liked the "Drinking with Griffins" chapter. The books straddles the line between accessible and academic nicely along with some entertaining wry humor.
