Miracle on Luckie Street

Rate this book
By the time he was 24 Bob Williamson was already a violent criminal with a prison record and a .357 Magnum; he'd been kicked out of the military as a diagnosed sociopath; he was helplessly addicted to methamphetamine and heroin; he'd been an alcoholic since his teens and had gone through a nasty divorce; his family had given up on him; he was homeless, penniless, and didn't have a single friend; he didn't believe in God and was as mean and vicious as a rabid dog. He was all alone, mired in abject squalor. By all rights he should be locked away somewhere for the rest of his life, or more likely dead, buried, and forgotten. He reached the point where he felt that suicide was his only viable option and he was ready and willing to pull the trigger, but then a horrific car accident and a chance encounter with a merciful nurse helped change his life. He learned a trade, started a business, and virtually overnight accumulated a small fortune and achieved what he believed to be the absolute pinnacle of success; but the sudden mountain of cash triggered an avalanche of new problems and soon he was overwhelmed with temptation, arrogance, and sheer lust for more of everything. He was addicted to a new drug money, but again miraculously overcame his addictions and is no longer a slave to the flash and the cash, the pride of life, and the lust for unadulterated power. This book reveals how one man overcame adversity and found unwavering hope and, ultimately, gentle peace. More important, it will guide you to the same place.

This is an amazing true story.

It summarizes the amazing life of Bob Williamson. It clearly describes, very graphically, what he went through as an alcoholic, a drug addiict, a quick tempered, angry, violent person, and a lawbreaker in his early life.

His life changed dramatically when he discovered, by reading the Bible that he "can do all things through Christ who strengthens" him. (Phillipians 4:13)

Ultimately, Bob became free of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. He also became a tremendously successful businessman. Although he did not live a perfect life after his conversion, he did experience many miracles from God in his business career for over 40 years..

Now, he has his own business reaching out to others to help them find Christ, change their lives, and become Christ followers.

This book is 80 chapters long. As mentioned earlier, the first 52 chapters are very graphic. Therefore, for Who have led relatively sheltered lives, I would suggest beginning the book at chapter 53 and going through chapter 80.

Bob's life is so interesting, as I was reading the book, I was thinking that this guy's life is so interesting, he should write a book. However, he already has!

Anyone who is struggling in any area of their lives should do what Bob did. That is seek God for the rest of your life.

Excellent story of success after having bad luck, no expressed parental love, a psychiatric diagnosis of "sociopath" and a good life after finding love in Jesus, life in a new world and the love of a wonderful woman. Anyone who has any doubt that they can rise up after hitting rock bottom repeatedly needs to read this book (you can actually read chapter 2 first and you will be hooked)! I was fortunate enough to get to actually meet this author and his wonderful and beautiful wife after having read this book and was able to ask him questions about his life and also to seek advice.

This story bowled me over with its frank and shocking disclosures. The fact that someone such as the author could be changed is indeed a miracle. And only God can work miracles. I DO wish the bad language had been expunged or left out. It is not necessary to the storyline, nor were the memories of past immoralities, just a brief vague reference would have sufficed. Other than those two negatives, I would heartily recommend the book to anyone who wants to be impressed and perhaps changed too by what God can do when He invades a heart that is at last open to Him.

A long book, very intriguing and just lives out somebody that hit bottom and found their way out through God, he is what he says he is and has done what he's said he's done. It's a great read for the believers and non-believers alike.

A suggestion from a friend who worked with Bob for 12 years and one of the most compelling reads in a while considering it is all true .
He spares himself no pain and goes to the dark places of his soul to shine the light of honesty on his life . Highly inspirational and brutally honest , thank you Bob .

A new Author inspiring from the darkness .

Incredibly inspiring

I chose this book for an old boss of mine. It never came through on my kindle until years later when I was struggling with my faith. This book is real! It gave me my sign that God wants more for my life. I am determined to make God in my life first. Thank you for allowing the world into you and your families life.

Gritty and graphic - almost too much so. I say almost, because to read of the incredible transformation this man experienced was worth having to enter into his past. I've met Mr. Williamson and what Christ has done for him is nothing less than a miracle.

I finished the book by Bob Williamson - @Miracle on Lucky Street- and now I feel like my friend left!! Excellent book - don't think I could handle reading it again. But I took notes and definitely grew closer to God through the pages!
