Many have grown up thriving on the stories of the sweet and knowledgeable Mother Goose. Her stories shaped the minds of thousands of children around the world. They helped to build their character and produced resilience within us all. From the Peter's who picked peppers to the Old woman who lived in the shoe who had way to many kids she didn't know what to do. Her stories told of an innocence that was nurtured and protected, this provided somewhat of a manual on how to overcome childhood obstacles and fears. The tales told by the Dark Mother are the exact opposite of what Mother Goose produced. Where Mother Goose brought hope the Dark Mother demolishes it. In these tales of " Caution" you will read of the darkness that creeps in through the world. A darkness that lurks in the darkest parts of the human soul, a darkness we all work so hard to bury.
Fair warning for those who enter the dark and twisted tales of this debut book by the author. You may not want to read at night during stormy weather with the lights out, as it may give you nightmares. The short stories pack a punch of women scorned who get even and can be read in one sitting. I'm looking forward to more ghastly tales by the author because it left me wanting more.
Ive been captivated by this author from page 1. You can tell these tales come from a deep place. Both men and women can benefit from this perceptive read. Highly recommended! 🙌🏼
An amazing read. The stories will have you heartbroken and make you want to cry; but it's absolutely worth it. I wish I could read this book for the first time all over again.
