Natalie has a bookcase with a ladder and is on a texting level relationship with her local indie bookstore owner, so her life had peaked. But then she quit drinking coffee and alcohol so she can still be miserable enough to write books.

Natalie's journey through genres is a dance of witty banter and captivating narratives. Her young adult dystopian series, Falling & Uprising, is a TikTok star. Her repertoire spans from the intricate realms of science fiction and fantasy, where her name is synonymous with imaginative escapism, to the heartfelt and humorous lanes of contemporary romantic comedy, set to debut in 2025 under the pseudonym Natalie Acosta.

Okay I think that’s good. If you are still here, don’t blame me, you were warned.

This thrilling conclusion to the Falling and Uprising trilogy is a masterpiece of perfection. ….is what someone might say if Cammaratta had not shat all over my heart and sent my ship down in flames. The whole time I read this I yelled at her “SAY IT AINT SO” and “HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!”

Bruised ego at picking incorrectly aside, I think this book may be the best of the set. The pacing was perfect, the story wrapped up together nicely, the action and characters were believable, even if I didn’t want to believe the plot was going to do the things it did.

Cammaratta takes you on a wild ride through her twisting and turning imagination in the land of Kaycie and Montica as our favorite, and not so favorite, characters navigate their world that has been torn apart at the end of book 2. They have to pick up the pieces and decide how best to move on and even if they can.

I was pleasantly surprised that even though the author could never convince me to abandon ships, she was able to make me have empathy for characters I had previously despised. This book tugs on your heartstrings and then tears it right open. All the while, you watch your poor heart bleed out and through tears, still continue to thank Cammaratta for bringing this piece of fiction into your life.

I mean…. I guess it was okay or whatever. And you can read it if you want. Or don’t. Your choice.

Natalie, as usual, made me sob the entire time reading this book. It was such a wonderful finale to a series so near and dear to my heart. This was her best work, her writing was at the top of its game in this installment.

The politics and rebuilding the government being at the forefront of this book was so entertaining for me. I am such a freak for political intrigue. However, my favorite part was the exploration of grief, and how we all grieve in different ways. Some of us shut down completely, some of us dive into other hobbies, and some of us focus on the things we CAN change.

While my ship may have failed, I am not at all upset about the one that sailed. The growth these characters went through, and the comfort they offer each other pulled my heartstrings. Natalie also had so many plot twists, but one had me crying tears of joy.

I’m going to miss the world of Kaycie (and Bram’s lovely little sister, Libby 😉), and everytime I look at my city’s skyline - I’ll think of Serenity, Bram, Vogue, Jase, Frey, Krissalyn and the rest of the gang.

Natalie you've done it again!! What a perfect finale to an epic trilogy. My heart hurts for many reasons, the storyline, the fact that it's over, the epilogue. I couldn't have asked for a better final book. Each page brought so many emotions with it. I loved reading it. All of the characters hold a special place with me so watching their stories unfold was everything. I highly recommend this series. So sad it's over Definitely not sorry I devoured them so fast!

I received an ARC of this book and will try to keep my review from having spoilers.
That said, oh my god, this book was amazing.

Book 3 follows Serenity, Bram, and Adwin in the aftermath of their world falling apart. It deals with the topic of grief and healing in such a beautiful way and brings the reader on an emotional journey that (EVENTUALLY) leaves them feeling fulfilled with the story.

That doesn't mean this book didn't rip my heart out and make me angry at Natalie. The plot twists, surprises, and slow-burn romance keeps the pages turning in a frustration that only the best stories can bring. You will not want to put this book down. Clear a weekend and read this story. Maybe book a session with your therapist after you're done.

Natalie dashes any hope you have going in to this book before the first chapter has even begun and then clenches your heart in her hands about half way through. Despite the whiplash and heartache of characters lost she has manufactured a great trilogy that I can actually see myself rereading unlike many other books. The ending is satisfying enough that you don’t feel like you need more information, it all came together as it needed to. Congrats Natalie on your finished trilogy, can’t wait to see what your next series is about!

Tl, dr: I really enjoyed this series overall. I loved the characters, and the plot was full of unexpected twists and turns. But some of the plot twists felt a little unbelievable, and it felt like it didn't fully live up to its potential. Despite some plot holes, I didn't want to put this story down, but I'm not sure if I would reread this series.

Cw: death/loss/grief

Fractured & Renewed, the finale of the Falling & Uprising series was honestly a bit of a let down. I'll try to keep this review as spoiler free as possible, but I do mention spoilers from the previous two books.

Falling & Uprising set up such an interesting scenario for a story. We start out finding out the whole world was flooded, and only this one idealic island of humanity has survived. But wait, actually there are several other islands (I'll be honest I forgot how many). Oh hold on, actually there are several other countries that this country (Kaycie) has just been cut off from. We end with an uprising and so many expectations for how this conflict could go. I loved the first book and felt certain I would love the series after reading it.

Scattered & Breaking deals with the fall out from the Uprising. But mostly focuses on the characters dealing with the aftermath of the
uprising. Much of the resolution for the conflict feels like background to the main story. The whole first book built to the Uprising. But in the 2nd book, the Uprising is quickly wrapped up/disbanded and we start looking at the possibility of a conflict with the mountain country (I think Montico was the name). I enjoyed all the twists and turns. Some plot points felt a bit unbelievable (like one character supposedly moved from Montico to Kaycie and somehow no one noticed?) How do leaders live on the islands and just move back to Kaycie with no one noticing? All those years Kaycie thought they were the only people around, and in a world where social media is massive and Serenity always has people watching her, how do leaders disappear and reappear with no one noticing? It doesn't really make sense, but I let that go. It felt like the story kept presenting questions it didn't answer. But I enjoyed the plot twists and thought maybe more questions would be answered at the end.

Even though the first two books focused mainly on the reactions of the main characters and not on the wider conflict, I figured as the story progressed eventually we would get more of the epic conflict. Somehow, in a story that deals with massive conflicts (an uprising within a country, a pending war with another, conflict with the other leading nations) it feels like most of the larger conflicts happen off page. The story continues to focus mainly on the characters. Which was fine, it felt like the story kept building up to an epic conflict, and that simply never happens.

Instead, we get the first 3rd of this book focusing on the main characters grieving their losses. Honestly, it was a slow section to get through, but it felt like excellent character development, and a good way to show the bounds strengthening between characters.

We also get some back story of the conflict in the mountain country. I really wished Clover was more a part of the story as I absolutely loved her character in the second book.

There are so many plot twists and turns to this series that it kept me always wondering what would happen next. But the resolution left me disappointed. Somehow all the loose ends get tied up, but it didn't feel satisfying. There were so many memory loss/catch up to reality/wait what actually happened moments that I felt a little lost as to who was actually on whose side and what just happened? Plus so many of the backstory/explanation/plot twists felt simply unbelievable and weird.

At the end of everything, we get an epilogue 14 years in the future. Generally, I love getting to flash forward and see how everything resolved. I would have loved to read more about how the conflicts between countries resolved. What does the wider world look like now that Kaycie knows other places exist? Did the characters manage to change the world in the meaningful ways we hoped for? Instead we get a gender reveal party. I'll admit I almost took an extra star off my review for that point alone. Seriously, we are in this futuristic world, and somehow gender reveal parties are *still* a thing?! I couldn't help rolling my eyes that after everything *this* was how the story concludes.

At the end of this trilogy, I find myself disappointed and a bit unsure. I loved the characters, I was fascinated by the world, but the wider plot felt like such a massive let down. And ending what could have been such a dramatic story with a gender reveal party felt like a waste of so much potential. I'm not sure if I would reread this series. The books were interesting, but they left me hoping for so much more. All in all, it felt like this series could have told a wider story within the fascinating world the author created, it was full of so many interesting ideas and lovable characters, but the plot falls short of it's potential.

This is how you complete a trilogy! FRACTURED & RENEWED was everything I wanted as the third book of Natalie Cammaratta's Falling & Uprising series -- fast-paced, action-packed, and a total roller coaster ride of emotions.

As a personal rule, I don't give out spoilers in any of my reviews, so I'm going to hold back on a critical event in this book, BUT, I have to say that there is a very specific relationship that made my heart happy -- lots of swooning on my end as Natalie wrote each moment beautifully!

There is a LOT going on this book, but the intrigue, action, and relationship dynamics effortlessly blend for a thrill ride that doesn't stop until the last page. On that note, I also have to say that the epilogue was perfect as well -- I wanted to be there with everyone enjoying the special event and the lives that they've been able to build for themselves after such a tumultuous time.

If you love dystopian YA filled with espionage, action, romance, and fierce relationships, then you should definitely read all three books in the FALLING & UPRISING series.

I did receive my copy as an ARC from the author.

After the crushing climax to Scattering & Breaking, Serenity and Bram are faced with putting their respective lives back together in Fractured & Renewed. This time, they both retain every heartrending memory of their losses, but perhaps each is just what the other needs to heal. While sparks fly between Serenity and Bram, the rebuilding of Kaycie continues, and no one (especially not our gang) is willing to cede control. Buckle up for the signature cold-blooded machinations, stomach-dropping shocks, and heartbreaking twists youve come to expect from Natalie Cammaratta, and don’t expect her to go easy on you. Because this is the last in the Falling & Uprising series, and she simply won’t do it!

Natalie does an amazing job of wrapping up her series in the most perfect way. You will feel things, you will shout "no way" and drop the book in surprise, you will (like me) forgo sleeping and stay up until 5 AM reading because you can't stop without knowing what will happen. I'm sad to leave these characters behind, but I am so happy to know Natalie can no longer inflict horrible damage on them any longer.

This was exactly what I wanted (and needed) in the 3rd installment of the Falling & Uprising series. Cammaratta knows how to write loveable and hate-able characters and has the rare capability to make her readers care about them all. It's hard to review these action-packed books without giving away major spoilers, but I will say Natalie knows how to torment her readers and take them on an incredible ride!

A masterful conclusion for the Falling & Uprising trilogy!
If you're looking for an emotional wild ride, your search has ended.
This book will give you:

*Tears. So many tears.
*Swoon-worthy slow-burn romance. And chickens. Loved the chickens.
*Action and danger and super high stakes. Ay caramba!
*Intrusive thoughts of murder and revenge when THAT death happens Silence! We love the author!
*Cozy feelings only interrupted by a searing desire to overthrow the government.

I'm so happy when a great story comes my way. Fractured & Renewed honors its title by rearranging the little pieces of your soul that the previous (also wonderful) book scattered.
Appreciative thumbs up! Highly recommend! I need therapy! All hail Natalie Cammaratta!

I was unsure how the author would rectify something that happened in the last book or have me cheering for a situation I was 100% not into, but here we are with me being happy with the ending. Great series!
