Born and raised in Colorado into a family of ranchers and cowboys, B.N. Rundell is the youngest of seven sons. Juggling bull riding, skiing, and high school, graduation was a launching pad for a hitch in the Army Paratroopers. After the army, he finished his college education in Springfield, MO, and together with his wife and growing family, entered the ministry as a Baptist preacher. Together, B.N. and Dawn raised four girls that are now married and have made them proud grandparents. With many years as a successful pastor and educator, he retired from the ministry and followed in the footsteps of his entrepreneurial father and started a successful insurance agency, which is now in the hands of his trusted nephew. He has also been a successful audiobook narrator and has recorded many books for several award-winning authors. Now finally realizing his life-long dream, B.N. has turned his efforts to writing a variety of books, from children’s picture books and young adult adventure books, to the historical fiction and western genres which are his first love.
Eli has been looking for his two sons for a long time. Just when he gets close they are gone again. In this book he finally catches up with them. It is full of exciting encounters prior to finding them and the adventures continue after he finds them. The book is full of action and suspense and keeps your interest. It is hard to put down. It ends on a good note with indications that there is more to come. I can't wait to see what is next.
I love the way you write. The style and character development. The series was brilliant. I do so hope you continue by following Eli with Charlie Two Toes, it would be great if Jeremy and Matti were there too. It would be great if he scouted for the Buffalo Soldiers.
I am extremely glad I found this series. This author doesn’t go crazy but weaves a fine story with land marks and places I recognize. I like the homey comments, that would probably age me if I mentioned all of them, followed up by a spiritual enlightenment. Thanks, B. N. Rundell for sharing your imagination.
This was a good story, but I thought it was the least exciting of the series so far. I would definitely recommend it to be read just as well as the others. Not taking away from the series, I just liked it the least so far. Looking forward to the next book of the series.
The tenacity of Eli McCain produces good results. The reunion with his stepsons, Joshua and Jubal presents a great opportunity for the boys to have a rewarding life. As for Eli, adventure awaits as he misses the mountains of the west. A good read with lots of adventure along with history and geography to make things interesting.
Finally Eli has found his wayward sons. Father and sons along with a dozen men, a cook, and his wife, make a harrowing journey from California to Kansas. I do hope we learn more of Eli. I have truly enjoyed his character and his faith in the Lord.
I expected a great Series from B.N.Rundell and I got it and more. Eli spent many pages searching for his stepsons. and when he found the , the action really began. Good work as usual Mr. Rundell. You keep; writing and I'll keep reading.
What a fine trip taking 1,000 horses 2000 miles with the author is crabbing each mile in detail It's a travel adventure log. Packed action I round it impossible to put down.
Love how god is always included in your writing. Great story and a good continuation or sequel to the others in your series. At this time I have read all you've written. Don't stop as they are great reads.
I was so glad when Eli finally found his sons! I can’t wait to read on now to see where his life continues to. An Indian wife, the restaurant owner who knows….
He takes his step sons on a great adventure and gets close to them. It could yield enough to make their futures easy. Great series. Highly recommended for all readers.
This is an excellent series of books. I enjoyed them because first because they were good but also as a Christian I enjoyed them. I do feel that anyone would enjoy this series. They were well written and the stories were solid.
