I enjoyed the story about Jollof rice. This book is fun, informative, and a wonderful lesson for children. I will try the recipe with my nieces.
The pictures and illustrations have very nice bright vivid colors. The book has lessons on cooperation, teamwork, cooking, planning, and social skills.
Probably it wasn't a great idea to read this book when I was hungry, but the story is original. I'm quite intrigued by the peanut butter soup. The takeaway lesson from this story is to be proud of your country's own cuisine, which is a topic I don't think I've ever read about in a children's book.
The Jollof Project was a great read! I loved how the author used food as a way to get young readers thinking about food differently. Food seems to bring everyone together. I loved how this was a simple story about a school project with a little competition between two girls. What a great read for any young child interested in learning about different types of food.
Ama and Obi both make Jollof from different backgrounds. I like that the author included the recipe so that you can make it yourself. Variety of graphics are being used. This book is good for school aged children.
Simply written and insightful book. Engagingly vibrant illustrations. Cultural highlights. This story carries a useful message that we all should heed. Kudos to the author!
In this short story about a school project, Ama learns about a new dish. This cute read is a must for children who want to learn about food from other countries!
