After her own journey through burnouts and breakdowns, Ann M. Diment wrote Turning the Tables on Burnout based on the strategies she learned after two decades of struggling. Diment's twelve-year journey of healing has helped her develop methods she imparts to her readers hoping they will use them to live a less stressful life. The book is written in two parts. The first section defines burnout and gives clear ways to recognize it. The later chapters provide readers with tools to leave a burnout cycle, "burning brighter" and prevent overworking themselves. As a bonus, the author provides meditations, worksheets related to the exercises in the book, and other resources for anyone who purchases her book in a free download.

Ann M. Diment's book can be freeing for someone who has fallen into a burnout cycle! Not only does Diment explain the effect stress has on the brain, but she also informs her audience about ways to stop it through recognizing potential triggers, participation in meditation, and suggestions for creative outlets and self-care. The author includes research and engaging visuals and discusses her experiences in a way to which readers can relate. Diment wraps up every chapter with an activity or reflection, giving readers a chance to apply the material in the text. Turning the Tables on Burnout is a good book for anyone who feels stressed or anxious at their workplace or in their lives, and would be a great gift for someone who needs the support they'd find in the pages.

Burnout is a real issue!

I have struggled with burnout as a widow with 5 children. I love that this book talks about tapping! I have taught my children to tap to handle intense emotions and stress. Tapping is a fantastic tool!
I think the author does a great job at defining burnout and giving helpful tools to resolve it, so that you can thrive!
