“In our brokenness, we’ve found healing through revenge.”

“Strength comes from pain. It’s born the moment you know you can no longer go on. But you still do.”

Savage is the second book in the Taken series but can be read as a standalone. Please check the trigger warnings before reading the book!

The book is told from three points of view: the MMC Dante, and the two FMCs, Harper and Rayne. I enjoyed the dynamic between all three main characters. I think their interactions were well-written, and their relationship was very interesting.

There were multiple flashback scenes throughout the book, which helped to explain and illustrate the characters' past traumatic experiences. In my opinion, the flashbacks helped with character growth and development.

The storyline was interesting and kept me hooked from the first pages to the end. Overall, it's a well-written and interesting dark romance story with heavy themes.

I would prefer to have the trigger warnings (at least the most common and/or important ones) on the book itself instead of the author's website.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.

THIS WAS A DARK FFM ROMANCE. THE BOOK WAS IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GENRE THAN I'M USED TO. IN ITSELF IT WAS A NOVELLA FOR IN BETWEEN BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT WASN'T FOR ME.

THE THREE OF THEM WERE ALREADY A COUPLE HERE AND TOGETHER THEY PURSUED THE GOAL OF KILLING PEOPLE WHO WERE INVOLVED IN CHILD TRAFFICKING, INCLUDING THEIR OWN FAMILIES. AS ALL THREE WERE ABUSED IN THEIR CHILDHOOD. I COULD OFTEN UNDERSTAND THE SUFFERING AND PAIN OF THE CHARACTERS AND I SUSPECT THAT THE AUTHOR HAD A CLEAR GOAL THAT CHILD TRAFFICKING AND ABUSE SHOULD HAVE NO PLACE IN THIS WORLD.

I WAS REALLY HAPPY THAT THE BOOK HAD A HAPPY ENDING. THE BOOK WAS SO DARK THAT I DIDN'T EXPECT IT😅

FAVOURITE QUOTE: YOU'RE PAST DOESN'T HAVE TO DEFINE YOU. IT'S THE CHOICES YOU MAKE AFTER THAT MATTER THE MOST. AND I CHOOSE TO DO GOOD

The book itself was good, so I would like to mention that I don't want to influence other people's opinions - it is my own and I don't want to spoil the fun of reading it

These three are looking for closure through revenge on the ones that made them suffer so brutally, but also with the love and understanding from each other.

They are strong and rose from the ashes with the help from one another. So intuned to each others wants and needs.

My attention was held through out most of the story. I did feel like the ending was bit rushed. I wanted more of the trouple relationship. It was definitely story and character led.

This book was definitely dark and dealt with some heavy and traumatic issues. For sure check triggers.

I blew through this book so fast, I absolutely loved this dark FFM read.
Ive been patiently waiting for Dante and my God I was not disappointed.
The way that these three love each other was fierce. the further the story developed the more on edge I became.
The emotions it pulled out of me is nothing that I didn't except, Dani has a wonderful way of pulling all the emotions out of me and I love it!
It's a devastatingly beautiful read that had me awake well into the early hours, because once I started I could not put it down.

Savage is Book 2 in the Taken series but can be read as a standalone. It's a must read.
Make sure you check out the trigger warnings before reading.

Savage by name, Savage by nature.

This book isn't like the typical dark romance books I would usually read. The throuple, who are the focus of the story, are already established (although not the best at communicating feelings), and the story doesn't focus on them changing their dynamic but on their combined trauma and their passion for sex, violence, and vengeance.

Dante, Harper, and Rayne are all victims of CSA and a trafficking ring run by their parents. They've been through different types of abuse by several people, and the author uses flashbacks to give an insight into what they've been through. While some details are mentioned, they aren't overly explicit. United in their quest to eradicate the trafficking ring, they are on a mission to take it down, and some of those scenes are graphic as they torture and kill. The author tends to almost soften the violence with a spice scene after, as if the violence and bloodlust became too much and they couldn't resist the closeness between them all. There is one scene that showcases some of the CSA that is truly disturbing, and while not overly graphic, it is detailed enough to shock me as a reader. Still, I feel that was the intent of the author—to showcase just how dark and depraved some of the things the main characters have been through at the hands of the trafficking ring.

Their story was dark, raw, and gritty, and I enjoyed seeing them strengthen their connection as they took on the world. They may not have been able to communicate their feelings early on in the book, but the signs were there in their actions, and I enjoyed watching their bond strengthen.

In Savage by Dani René, readers are thrust into a gripping world where darkness and vengeance reign supreme. Dante, Harper, and Rayne are all victims of CSA and a trafficking ring run by their parents. They've endured different types of abuse by several people, and René employs flashbacks to provide insight into their harrowing experiences. While some details are mentioned, they aren't overly explicit, allowing readers to grasp the depth of their trauma without gratuitousness.

United in their quest to eradicate the trafficking ring, Dante, Harper, and Rayne embark on a mission to dismantle it. The author doesn't shy away from the grim realities of their pursuit, portraying graphic scenes of torture and retribution as they exact vengeance upon those responsible.

The dynamic between the three main characters is a highlight of the narrative. The author crafts their interactions with care, showcasing the complexity of their relationships and the bond forged by shared trauma. Despite the darkness that surrounds them, there are moments of vulnerability and tenderness that add depth to their characters.

The storyline is compelling and kept me hooked from the first pages to the end. The author skillfully weaves together elements of romance, suspense, and gritty realism, creating a narrative that is as captivating as it is unsettling.

Overall, Savage is a well-written and thought-provoking dark romance story with heavy themes. Dani René has crafted a compelling tale that explores the depths of trauma, resilience, and the pursuit of justice.

"Savage" by Dani Rene is a gripping tale of vengeance, darkness, and the lengths one will go to protect their loved ones. In this intense and emotionally charged narrative, the protagonist grapples with the legacy of a traumatic past, seeking retribution against those who have caused irreparable harm.

The story follows a protagonist burdened by a tumultuous upbringing, haunted by the sins of their father and driven by a fierce determination to seek justice. As they confront their demons and embrace the darkness within, they embark on a harrowing journey of self-discovery and redemption.

Rene masterfully weaves together elements of suspense, action, and raw emotion, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The character development is rich and multifaceted, with each member of the cast wrestling with their own inner turmoil and moral dilemmas.

One of the most compelling aspects of "Savage" is its exploration of the complexities of revenge and the blurred lines between heroism and villainy. The protagonist's descent into darkness is portrayed with nuance and depth, challenging readers to confront uncomfortable truths about the nature of justice and the human condition.

With its visceral prose and relentless pacing, "Savage" is a dark and captivating read that will leave readers breathless until the final page. Fans of gritty thrillers and morally ambiguous characters will find much to love in this riveting tale of survival, sacrifice, and the enduring power of love.

“ In many ways, the three of us shouldn't really be together, but we find our whole among all the broken pieces. Where I'm missing something, Harper fills the gap, and the same applies to Dante.
It's like a puzzle of destruction that becomes a mosaic of twisted perfection.”

Harper, Rayne and Dante are each other’s missing pieces. The three fit together perfectly to form a complete whole. Their love is true and genuine. It lights up their hearts and souls.
But before they found each other. Pain was their only companion. Abuse was their normal.
My heart broke for each one of them. The anguish they endured. The grief that never left them.
The betrayals that broke them. One ugly and vile thing after another.
But finding each other gave them hope. Gave them a purpose.
Gave them their rainbow after the storm.
Their pasts will never leave them though. The memories ever front and center. Always lingering.
Until finally it catches up with their present.
Their story is raw and gritty. It kept me on the edge of my seat. And my heart thumping wildly.
These three have incredible chemistry together. It’s hot and steamy.
But what made their relationship more special for me was the bond they had with one another.
Their past traumas gave them shared experiences.
Which made their bond greater mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
I was taken and invested in all three of them.
And I could not put their story down until I got to the end.

Savage took me on a thrilling journey into a world of romance and suspense that I couldn't resist. Right from the start, René's writing drew me in and held me spellbound until the very last page. The characters were so intricately crafted, flawed yet fascinating, making it impossible for me to put the book down.

The plot twists in Savage were masterfully done, keeping me guessing and eagerly turning the pages to uncover what would happen next. The chemistry between the characters crackled with intensity, adding an extra layer of excitement to the story. René's world-building skills made the setting come alive, immersing me completely in the story.

What truly stood out to me in Savage was the emotional depth of the characters and their journey. René fearlessly delved into the darker aspects of human nature, making the characters feel authentic and relatable despite their flaws. The pacing was spot-on, ensuring that I was hooked from the very beginning.

In my opinion, Savage is a must-read for anyone who enjoys dark romance with a gripping storyline and well-developed characters. This 4-star book left me eagerly anticipating more from this talented author, and I can't wait to dive into their next work.

I really wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. I received an arc thru unalive promotions. I've read some Dani Rene in years past and when I saw this available I couldn't help but request. The blurb was intriguing and I knew I previously read and liked her work.
For me this one fell flat. I was expecting more story line intrinsic to the plot. For me it felt like I caught a B side thriller flick in the middle, and it could be because it was the second book in a series and I hadn't read the first, so I get not knowing the characters or the throuple dynamic. But it was seriously just a lot of the MMC saying he wanted to kill so and so, not really getting into the nitty gritty and for me the stories are all about that, the actual suspense part of the story, the WHY. That's also the way I like my dark books, the thrill part of a dark book for me isn't about killing, it's the way they go about it, the things they do to get to that point.
I'd say if you usually like a murder and mayhem kinda book give it a read. I'm in the minority on this one, so you may really enjoy it.

Firstly thank you to Dani René for allowing me to read this as an ARC 🫶🏻

I really enjoyed this book
It follows Dante, he had a rough childhood. His father was a very bad man, and abused him and his brother. Dante grew up and swore he would never become his father, he would do everything in his power to stop the men and women that traffic young girls.
Harper is part of this threesome. She was sold by her father at a young age to an evil man who abused her. She will have to come face to face with the man that abused her in order to stop him
Then we have Rayne. She was sold by her mother at a very young age as well, and went through some very traumatic things.
Together through many hardships, these three find love in each other, and stop the bad people that caused many issues in their lives
There were many twists and turns in this book, and I really did enjoy this world! 🖤

This was so good. I had been waiting on Dante's story ever since I read his brother Drake's story and oh man was this so worth the wait.

This arthur just knows how to hit with that right amound of darkness all while having you feel the emotions coming off the pages.

This is a dark FFM read that you can't help but love these character's. The love they have for each other is amazing they always know what the other needs, but Dante, Harper and Raine all have a darkness inside that stems from the abusive childhood they suffered.

They've set out to take care of the evil that played a part in their abuse and to put a stop to it, but they're finding out with each one gone there's one more snake waiting in the background.

This is definitely a must read, but check the triggers before reading.

Another brilliantly dark read from Dani René.

"You’re past doesn't have to define you. It's the choices you make after that matter the most."

Dante Savage, Harper and Rayne all have traumatic pasts, but they are survivors. Now together they exact revenge on those who wronged them.

This story is dark and raw, with flashbacks to the past. The strength in these characters is amazing. The trust they have in each other is brave and strong. Their chemistry is passionate and on fire.

Told in multiple POV, which I think gives more depth and insight in to the characters and the book itself.

This is the third book in the Taken series, which can be read as a standalone. I do, however, recommend reading Stolen and Severed as well.

This is a very dark romantic revenge story. This book is FFM. Dante grew up in an abusive home, his father was a sex trafficker. He vowed he would never be like his father. His two girlfriends Rayne and Harper were trafficked as children and abused. The themes of this book are very dark so check trigger warnings. The three main characters are now adults and are on a mission to hunt down every person who abused them in their past and kill them. I enjoyed this book. It is my first book by this author. This book will make you appreciate the good family and upbringing that you had. Some parts were hard to read but I kept on. If you like a heavy dark themed romance then you will love this book

This is a book that is extremely gut punching. The topics are fierce, I would say terrible, but you won't be able to stop reading it. It's terrible to see what a type of behavior really does to people. When I finished, despite what was written, I couldn't wait to read it even if it makes you appreciate your own healthy bonds within the family and beyond.... By reading you will truly understand or remember how much
evil is truly inside this world in a lot.... . Which, for me, is the truest form of evil..
Will we ever be able to defeat these organizations that are at the head of this evil? I really hope so....

Dante, Harper, and Rayne are all victims of a child trafficking ring and have been bound by their shared trauma. While they take down the organization, that bond is only strengthened more by their passion for brutality and revenge.

Told in multiple POV, through flashbacks, the level of abuse at the hands of their own parents and others involved gives more insight into how these broken but strong characters react. While unable to communicate their feelings for each other on a basic level, the love they have for one another still shines through.

Having not read the first book of the series, I wasn’t sure if I’d miss something, but this can absolutely be read as a standalone. I was gripped from the beginning, and the mix of spice and violence was done well. This is a very dark read, with several triggers you’ll want to check first. But the way Rene explores human nature, especially the wicked side, was so exquisitely done.

Thank you Dani Rene and Unalive Promotions for this ARC.

This is a dark book. You will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. It is a really quick read that I felt like I was finished reading before I got started good. When you are looking for closure to things that have happened in the past, to some, revenge is the best way to get that closure. These characters have gone through the things of nightmare and have found each other too along the way. They have a really strong bond and are there for each other. I don't think I have ever seen characters to attuned to the others needs and wants. I don't want to say anything about the story. I am afraid I will give something away. This is a good book and I like I said a fast read. It is the second book in a series, but you can read it as a standalone.

If you enjoy stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat, where you seriously can’t put the book down, until you find out what happens next?? Then this is the story for you! A definite five plus, plus, plus stars from me! I have been anxiously awaiting Dante’s story since I read Stolen and Severed, and I anticipated it to be exceptional, but it is so much more than that, it’s truly an epic story. This isn’t your typical love story, and the relationship between the main characters may not be conventional, but then it wouldn’t be a story about a Savage. Dante, Harper and Rayne are the imperfectly perfect trio. All three broken in some way, but with the three of them together, they are whole. They are all on a quest to break down the evil they have endured in their past, and nothing will stop them. At times I cringed while reading some of the scenes, but I knew they played an important role in this story. My heart was broken and put back together so many times and I just hoped that these three would end up together, looking forward to a new future. I must say that this author has such a way with words that kept me entranced from the very beginning to the very end. An absolutely brilliant read!

The complete savagery of this book!!

This is an extremely heavy book. The topics are just 🤯. Maybe they’re that way to me because I’ve seen what this type of behavior truly does to people. It will make you want to go hug your child and appreciate the family you have that much more. It reminds you of just how much evil is truly in this world. Which, to me, is the truest form of evil.

Dante, Harper, & Rayne have been drug through the pits of 👿🔥, tossed around a bit, and then drug some more. Their trauma is what causes them to hunt down the organizations that run this evil.

This is the third book in the Taken series. Wow, this was a tough read in places—it’s a dark FFM story with an already established dynamic. Dante, Harper, and Rayne are forced to face their horrendous pasts for both revenge and to continue their work of righting wrongs & making the world a safer place. The three main characters carry a lot of trauma—understandable when you read the flashbacks. I liked the tension between past events and present responses, and how the characters were moving forward in their own ways, together.

This is the third book in this phenomenal series, and this is Dante, Harper, and Rayne’s story.
I have been waiting patiently for Dante’s story, and my word it is so worth the wait. Dante, Harper, and Rayne love each other fiercely and unconditionally.
This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, trauma, enemies, tension, vengeance, suspense, intrigue, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, unpredictable, and steamy dark twisted romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

A deliciously dark romance read with triggers so please read the author’s warning before proceeding. This is a standalone in a series that you can read in any order but undoubtedly you’ll want to read them all. Serious topics are pressed on throughout this story with an ease of going from part to present throughout. When the steam hits, it’s on high and you’ll never want to cool it down. A story that comes full circle in the end and there’s a closure felt all around. A highly recommend read.

After Drake's book, I've been waiting a long time to get Dante's story. This is a dark FFM romance, so deeply heartbreaking, yet so sexy and redeeming! Dante, Harper and Rayne all have a dark scars in their hearts, all from their abusive pasts. They're determined to destroy the evil from their pasts, but it won't be an easy road.

I loved this book so hard, and FF is not usually my thing. But do check the trigger warnings before reading.

This won't be my only book from her & I recommend this series & author!

Savage was indeed a killer read where obsession and revenge go hand and hand. The relationship between Dante, Harper, and Rayne is complex, but understandably so, given their pasts. This read was an adrenaline rush and has us ready to devour Dani Rene’s other works all the same. The spice is definitely there and gets better with every scene. Please review the triggers before reading. Your mental health matters!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Through their revenge they hope for closure. Dante Harper and Raynor each have suffered most of their lives, their unbreakable bond was interesting to read. Plenty of dark themes throughout. Well written and keeps you engaged. I always like to read when victims can their revenge.
