Dealing with an autoimmune disease? Then youre in the right place. After 6 years of suffering, Lisa was finally diagnosed with autoimmune diseases. She knew she had to fight back, she chose to do so with food. Wanting to learn all she could, Lisa returned to school for Holistic Nutrition and now wants to share her knowledge with you. Her book is filled with over 75 clean eating, autoimmune friendly, quick and easy recipes. All recipes are grain, dairy, egg, nut, soy and gluten free. But not free of taste. No sir, all recipes are two thumbs up kid approved!
Got this from the library to explore some clean eating recipes that might support suppression of autoimmune diseases. Unfortunately this cookbook was very basic. The pictures were in black and white so nothing looked appealing. A couple tips I learned was substituting coconut milk for regular milk in hot chocolate or sauces. Something else she did was use zucchini in place of regular noodles. I love to cook and my family is used to having home cooked meals without omitting any kind of food. I can’t see my kids enjoying these recipes as they stray too far from the “ordinary.” I realize my rating is unfair because I didn’t actually test out any of these recipes. I also didn’t find one that I’d be willing to try.
Presentation-wise, it's not like a professionally put together cookbook. It feels more like peeking into somebody's personal recipe book—but boy are those recipes good. Helped me fill in the blanks when wheat leaves. And dairy. This book has enriched my kitchen.
