Rate this book
The Basilisk and the flower.

Sutton Baxter had no idea that trying to do a good deed for her best friend at work, struck down by the flu two days into her new dream job, would go so terribly wrong.

Now her friend is at risk of losing her job, and Sutton finds herself on the mysterious and foreboding billionaires' doorstep, prepared to beg on her knees that they not fire her friend.

Instead, she is mistaken for someone else, with no way out.

How long before the ominous billionaires, the owners of the Basilisk Empire realize that the girl from that dark, lascivious, ritualistic night is a lowly temp at their skyscraper office? And what’s going to happen to her when they do?

After those Three Grumpy Billionaires i wanted another taste,so i tried The Dark Billionaires.
A little different,but still the same,if that makes sense…
This one’s got a case of mistaken identity, and three determined men to get the girl that turned out to be so right for them.
A short story, but oh so delicious!

A case of mistaken identity

Is it bad that I've already read this book twice and I kind of want to read it again? The book starts out with a friendly neighborhood visit that leads to a steamy night and a merry chase. The kings almost missed out on the love of their life because of the rules set in place before their time, but not to worry, fate has their backs. It’s funny how the world ends up being a much smaller place than you thought when you take a few minutes to look around. The author took some of the traditions and energy from the last book and gave us a brand new group to enjoy. I loved the intensity of the guys and the clueless innocence of their lady. They were easy to connect with and drew me into the story, not to mention the drama and danger that reared its ugly head. This book was a fantastic read and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Taken by the Dark Billionaires was about Sutton Baxter, a girl who worked as a temp for Basilisk Industries, and Ezra Collins, Jensen Flynn, and Maxim Black, the three owners of the company.
As the author stated at the beginning of the book, there were various kinks involved that some readers might not enjoy reading about.

The kinks involved:
1)Virgin rituals as in the taking of the heroine’s virginity in a ritualistic setting.
2)Lactation kink in that she is given something to lactate.
3)Branding of her body to declare the heroes’ ownership of her.
4)Spanking and punishments.
5)Some medical play as in the use of medical devices.
6)Touch her and the heroes will unalive them, so the element of violence is there.

If you’re okay with that, please also keep in mind this is purely escapism fiction, meant just to titillate so I do bend some rules and realities particularly when it comes to the ritual of branding her. Don’t try this at home, in other words.

Another Side Note: This was actually Book 2 in a series (no name of series given). There was a bit of a spoiler in the epilogue for Book 1, but not enough to worry about. However, if you want to read them in order, you should start with "Sold to the Very Bad Men", followed by this book. The third book in the series, yet to be published as of the date of this review, is "Given to the Cruel Billionaires" to be published on October 27, 2023.

Sutton and her friend, Tammy, both worked at Basilisk Industries. Sutton was a temp, and Tammy was a junior PA for the owners. When Tammy got sick, Sutton stepped up to help with some of her tasks, but something went wrong and she failed to deliver an envelope that made Tammy believe she would lose her job because of. So Sutton thought to bake some cupcakes to take to the owners and beg them not to fire her friend for a mistake she (Sutton) had made.

There was an overabundance of angst and drama, as well as fear (from the FMC's POV) in this story. The emotions were all over the place and the spice level was quite hot. There wasn't much backstory on the three men, but just enough to pique the curiosity of the reader. The FMC had a bit more history told, which made the reader wonder why an author would choose such a background for a heroine who would be put through the things this girl had to endure. While it wasn't too OTT, it was enough to act as a trigger for a woman who had grown up the way this FMC was supposed to have done.
It was an enjoyable storyline, but it seemed too rushed, especially for everything that had to take place in order to fulfill all that needed to be done. While it didn't earn a five-star rating, it was worthy of a four-star rating.

"Taken by the Dark Billionaires" by Chloe Kent takes readers on a thrilling and provocative journey that blurs the lines between good deeds and unforeseen consequences. The story revolves around Sutton Baxter, a well-intentioned friend who stumbles into a world of ominous billionaires and dark secrets when she tries to save her flu-stricken friend from losing her job.

Kent masterfully weaves an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The narrative is laced with tension, sensuality, and a sense of impending danger. As Sutton becomes entangled in a web of mistaken identity, the story delves into the depths of temptation and desire.

A word of caution: this book is not for sensitive readers, as it contains graphic and intense scenes that push the boundaries of sensuality. For those who appreciate stories that explore the darker side of romance and are unafraid of provocative content, "Taken by the Dark Billionaires" offers a unique and thrilling reading experience. Kent's narrative prowess and her ability to captivate readers with a tantalizing and mysterious plot make this book a compelling choice for those who seek a steamy, edgy, and suspenseful romance.

Awesome Book!!!

I enjoyed reading Taken by the Dark Billionaires(Billionaire Rites Book 2)!!! All about Sutton Baxter is in her mid-twenties does data entry at Basilisk Industries & Ezra Collins CEO of Basilisk Industries, Jensen Flynn CEO of Basilisk Industries and Maxim Black CEO of Basilisk Industries. All three men are part of the Leoni mafia family and live in NYC. Sutton was tasked with running a bunch of errands for her friend Tamara Woodsmith who is a junior PA at Basilisk Industries and she’s down with a bad case of the flu. Sutton attempted to do everything on the list but due to an accident she missed a deadline to meet somebody to deliver an orange package and now her friend might get fired for her tardiness. To prevent this from happening, she bakes cupcakes and knocks on the CEO’s door at their home. While there she is mistaken for the chosen one, in an ancient ritual. Read about Sutton & the three CEO’s and see what happens when they go hunting for the missing one!!! Lots of emotion and plenty of toe curling occurs. Definite Read!!!!

This series is so dark and depraved. And I loved it. Sutton thought she was doing her friend a favor, but an accident delayed her from delivering a package for her bosses. Panicking that her friend would lose her job Sutton goes to their home to apologize. She is mistaken as someone else when she arrives at their door and is swept up into the intrigue and rituals of the Basilisk Empire.

Sutton is just trying to do a good deed and the way she gets paid is by being a sacrificial virgin on an altar to three men. And her cupcakes get eaten by someone else. However, fate has a way of stepping in when needed and all works out in the end. I bit brutal in some parts, but a great piece of escapism from the mundane everyday real world.

I’m impressed with the way the whole story went down. The drama and excitement that came from it showed. Sutton was determined to make some problem fixed but in reality it worked out so well that she found herself in love.

Always enjoy Chloe’s books

Sometimes repetitive, but I still enjoy them. One book did stand out as different, and I loved it. Dark, dangerous and devious all Alphas. So many dangerous men running the world. If only it were true the world would be better off (if they were the men in Chloe’s books)

So Exciting

I could not put it down. The story was super hot but be careful because it may be triggering for some people. Helplessness would be the term i would use to explain the heavy scenes. The story really needed a lot more background on the main characters.

Damn this was a wild ride

Some of the mature themes are a lot for me... but the story was written beautifully. I also wish Sutton resisted a little more in the beginning, but her relationship with the billionaires was intense.

Please check TW before reading. Talk about a dark spicy read. This story was short but filled with plenty of spice. Secret societies and a sacrificial virgin ritual.

Now this is some really bad writing. One of the bad sides to the absence of any kind of control over self-publishing.

“They had taken the wrong woman.”

This book wasn’t nearly as dark as I thought it would be based on the sample chapters and the blurb. It’s also not very realistic but, to be honest, it’s not meant to be! I mean, come on! Three billionaires that are all intelligent, dominate, not cruel and super hot, and they all want to share one lucky woman? Of course this is fantasy. Get over it. That’s half the fun.

I thought it was a lot of fun and my only complaint is I didn’t feel I got to know the three men very well. Also the ending was a bit rushed. But still, I really enjoyed it.
