Bas Ashley was the love of my life, but my family made demands that I had to obey ... well, for the most part. For a time, I had to be content to watch her from afar, but she's an addiction, my Siren, and I need more of her. Ashley Woods has always been and forever will be mine ... even if she doesn't realize it just now.
*Unrealized is the second book in the Unrelenting series. Each book in the series is a standalone however, the themes get darker and there is an overarching plot. While not necessary to read every book in the series it is recommended. Foreword has trigger and content warnings for those interested. Open-door.
5 Stars **READ TRIGGERS** 4 Spice Bastian Teresi was supposed to be Ashley's one night stand. Which turned into a Summer fling. And then a 2 year long-distance relationship. When Bas was given orders he was forced to obey in an effort to keep Ashley safe from his mafia family's ties, he did the only thing he knew would work - he broke her heart. 6 years later, their back in each other's lives when Ashley's best friend, Hannah, gets engaged to Bas' cousin, Liam. Bas has been keeping an eye on Ashley, destroying any relationship she tried to have during that time, which brings a whole new level of danger to their lives when Bas messes with the wrong man.
This installment is definitely darker than it's predecessor with themes of BDSM, obsession, stalking and mafia-related themes. I love how Bas is so completely sure of himself and who he is, but is willing to allow Ashley do what she needs to in order to earn her forgiveness. I also love when they're stuck in the apartment together and it becomes an amazing prank war between them. We learn more about the family and how close their ties are, bringing each other together over and over.
Unrealized is the second book in the series. I was really eager to read this after finishing the first book. The characters stay true to form with who we met in book 1, and the storyline follows smoothly. Ashley is a strong willed, stubborn woman. Bas is an alpha hole. While the storyline was slightly predictable (due to the first book), it was still engaging and entertaining. It had a lot of spice with the Dom/sub relationship. I, personally, found Ashley annoying at times as she doesn't want to forgive Bas for his past deeds, but she falls into bed with him every time. But, I get why she's written that way also. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it
I was so ready for these twos story and it did not disappoint. And for Ashley to turn into a bada** was even better. I hope that we get books for others in the family, I can not get enough of the Teresi's
Oh the angst and I love a good brat/dom dynamic! This book was a bit darker and more graphic with the danger parts than the first but it was exciting, fast paced, and delivered all the feels! Excellent steamy bits, too!! Loving this series!!
The darkness is very sexy. The danger and her rise to defend herself. I really liked the protection aspect and how it worked. Great read. Highly recommend. Now on to the entire series. I'm hooked!
