How can you live, breathe, feel and hope when your world is collapsing and your life is now a lie? What do you do when sadness and despair become addictive?

Welcome to Caitlin’s world.

Led by the wearing need to learn the truth about her past, fearless, resilient Caitlin goes against her better judgment and returns to those who had once betrayed her – those who had stripped her of everything she knew and loved. In her quest for the truth, she confronts the eerie, violent storm of lies that derail her – slowly having to uncover, layer after agonizing layer, the mystery behind her true identity

Not merely a pawn in the endless match between the great families of Oaks, Caitlin finds herself caught in the maelstrom of a custody battle between families of the highest natural gifts. Now, none of the rules that have kept seventeen-year-old Caitlin safe apply, and everything is on the line – her freedom, her family – everything.

Join Caitlin’s tormented search for truth, and her heart’s journey towards healing by entering the lush extravagance of a secret society tucked away in the small town of Oaks – a town like no other where secrets of the truly gifted have been kept veiled for centuries, and uncover the link between her past, present and uncertain future by unraveling the Lines that Bind her to the inexplicable events that threaten her own existence.

I won a copy of Lines That Bind - Part One: Circle of Trust in a Goodreads giveaway, and I am so happy that I did!

It didn’t take me long to become interested in the storyline and once I did, I found that I was addicted. I wanted to know more about Oaks and the secrets that it contained. I hated that I couldn’t stay home from work, curl up in my favourite chair and just keep reading. I also had a difficult time putting down the book in the evening, I kept telling myself I would just read a few more pages and then I would go to sleep….but soon I found that more than an hour had passed and it was well past my normal bedtime. Even then I had a difficult time putting the book down.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, and I cannot wait for the next installment of Lines that Bind!

There's what could be a decent story in here, although the author needs to work on her craft. Most of the time I felt like I was wading through molasses. Too much telling about the emotive histrionics the central character is eternally succumbing to, instead of simply showing us. Lots of words that don't mean what the author obviously thinks they mean (saying 'distort' when she probably means 'distraught,' etc.). Lots of what I hope were typos, in which case a good edit could smooth things. The setup is interesting, certainly, although often a bit over the top. It was hard to really like the characters, but I think a general toning down could help there.

I received this ebook for free through Goodreads.

The relationship between Caitlin and Justin is remarkable! This is the first time I loved a couple that much!!!
The action is Amazing and the book keeps you on the edge of you chair through every chapter!
There wasn't one time that I found something boring!

I tried to leave down the book so many times but I simply couldn't!!!!
So many questions about Caitlin's past and future that have to be answered!

With life doused in a daily schedule of draining workload, finding the luxury of diving into a book of fiction was a hard task. Nevertheless, I managed it.
Lines that bind is a great work of fiction and I thoroughly enjoyed my journey through it. Lazaridis takes you through an eighteen year old's quest for truth. The protagonist's careful jumping around the fine line of danger and mystery within a realm of fantasy keeps the reader engraved within the book.
I'd suggest every fantasy lover out there to give the book a shot. I personally am looking forward to picking up the second part.
