Wild Ride Action Adventure. This one has everything - exotic (at least to American audiences) locations throughout the Eastern Mediterranean, unintentional/ intentional skydiving, long distance endurance swimming, running from bad guys via various means, lots of guns, a few explosions here and there... and a touch of the mystic, just because this *is* Maddock and Bones and, well, that's kind of what they do these days in particular. :) This time, they're back with the more complete team, and as such this *is* one of the longer, more involved adventures - this isn't one of the shortish adventures that may be able to be read in an hour or two, but it also isn't so long as to feel out of place in the overall series or genre. So sit back, strap in, and enjoy the ride. Very much recommended.
Another great adventure featuring Maddock and Bones. I just love these guys no matter how impossible or improbable their stories are! Let’s hope David Wood keeps on writing them.
In this book we join Maddock and his team as they try to prevent a religious fanatics from getting his hands on Baal's lyre, which can control the tides and create tsunamis. It is a little bit weird that I like these books as much as I do, but I think they are a kind of guilty pleasure. Also, they are potato chips books, as in you always want one more. The characters of Maddock and Bones are very, very stereotypical ex navy seals, and somewhat one dimensional. Each book is based on a historical myth, and they are sometimes a little bit repetitive. But the action and adventure is great and very fast paced, and the books are enjoyable.
