Written in the style of a story that tries to give factual information while stile being a decent story and fails at both.

This book combines factual information about dinosaurs with a fictional story that is intended to portray how these animals would have lived. The story does a great job of communicating the harsh reality of life as a dinosaur and the abundance of predators and other dangers that they would face.

Like many people, as a child I was very interested in dinosaurs and how the world may have been different millions of years before the advent of man. The illustrations are very detailed and provided me with a basic understanding of the massive scale of these animals and how they would have looked and behaved. This book could be used in the classroom to provide some initial insight into the world of dinosaurs and encourage children to learn more about the subject through other books and media.
At the end of the book is a non-fiction section dedicated to the Brontosaurus. There are pictures of fossilised remains and diagrams that communicate their enormous size when compared with objects from the present day. I found this method of blending a fictional story with non-fictional evidence was a great way to engage my imagination at a young age.
