sweet story, great 1st grade / early reader level - loved the illustrations of the African American girl and her grandmother
here's the beginning:
"Tia Johnson loved nightime.
She loved the stars most of all. /
One night, Tia made a wish.
She told it to her grandmother.
"I wish I could see the stars all the time,"
Tia said. "But every morning, they're gone!
Where do the stars go, Nana?"
through the sweet story, the grandmother helps the young girl transform her room, using dark paper with holes to cover the windows and make stars. loved the relationship between Tia and her Nana.
