"I liked reading "Hacker Smacker: An Easy to Read Guide to Personal Cyber Security" by Peter Jukel. In my opinion, this book is an excellent source of information that's useful and a good reference book most everyone can use.
As this highly intelligent author describes "In 2022, half of US Internet users had experienced a cybercrime. 85% of organizations responding to the 2023 Cyberthreat Defense Report suffered at least one successful cyberattack in the previous year. The three biggest data breaches involved the compromising of 3 billion accounts (Yahoo, Aug 2013), 500 million accounts (Marriot, 2014-2018) and 500 million accounts (Yahoo, 2014)."
I found it to be concise, well-organized, easy to read and understand, and focused. It gave me a clear understanding of the concepts involved. There is also a handy Glossary at the end of the book for those who might be unfamiliar with online terms. I also liked the "Basic Security Toolkit" the author gives in the book in Chapter 2 and I will keep this useful book as a handy reference.
Einstein once said, “The definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple.” In my view, the author has taken a lot of care to convey important security concepts in a clear and direct manner.
All in all, I found this book to be very well done and highly recommended."
