The Tale Hunters

Rate this book
How young can you be and still have a tale to share? Poor Araz – An ordinary high school girl one moment, and a prisoner of Hara Brzati, fortress of the great genie king Ifrit, the next! The jinni sorceress Paribanu has chosen young Araz to represent Earth in a high-stakes contest of tale-telling. If Araz can dazzle the terrifying King Ifrit and his court at the New Year Festival, she will be granted a wish of unlimited power. If she fails, she may disappear forever in this alien world! But what tale can a simple, small-town youth offer in a festival of fairy-hunters, dragon whisperers, elf champions, and demon-slayers? The jinn, and Araz herself, will soon discover that there is more to this young girl than anyone could have guessed. And along the way, she will share the adventures a youth with special powers who escapes from a government testing facility to live in hiding; an unwanted brother and sister, abandoned in the forest, whose new family of outcasts is besieged by evil sorcerers; a lad tormented and nearly destroyed by his baby sister’s “imaginary friend,” the ghostly Momo; and a loyal son who will make a chilling journey to the land of the dead to visit his departed father, and there discover a secret that threatens even the immortal King Ifrit and his race of jinn! Join ten young writers who believed one day that they were not too young to have tales to share! This book is their unique adventure, a fantasy novel for young readers, by young writers. Like the jinn of Hara Brzati, you may be surprised!
