There are many schools of thought around investing, this is one of the first ones I’ve practiced diligently since discovering Steve via a Facebook group circa 2019. His well researched and reasoned concept’s around generating passive income by investing in quality closed end funds, coupled with the concept of taking profits at reasonable levels, and reinvesting that capital in other closed end funds, with the goal of always increasing working capital and dividend income, have brought me close to generating 6 figures annually.

The book is well written, and clearly defines the rules and concepts one must follow to achieve success. Each concept is then expanded upon in detail within its own chapter, and reinforced several times thereafter.

Finance and investing books rarely generate excitement, but for this 50 year old, who can see a path to retirement by 55… well let’s just say I now sleep much better at night, regardless of macro environments or economic cycles, and instead of counting sheep, I’m counting my monthly income growth.

Do yourself, and your family, a favor: forget the 60/40 and 4% method and invest in yourself, and a copy of “Retirement Money Secrets”!

Excellent read for any investor who is focusing on growing working capital and realized income production which pays the bills. I've known the author for over 40 years and have witnessed how he has made himself and his clients wealthier over time, in all markets, up and down!

Steve shares his specific investment retirement strategies for buy/sell, income and profit taking generation, portfolio and risk management - quality, diversification, velocity of money - primarily in a type of security known as Closed-End Funds.

If you are nearing or in retirement, you should be focusing on cash flow from dividends and distributions. i.e. How will you maintain your same living standard w/o your past income?

This book, written in a very conversational style, explains in layman's terms, the value, advantages, and benefits of income investing. A good portion of the book is explaining the benefits of Closed End Funds (CEFs) and why they beat ETFs and mutual funds. The book also covers key topics such as Income-Focused Retirement Investing (IFRI); diversification; profit taking; risk pyramid; and importantly how to transition from your existing portfolio. Highly recommended!

Steve Selengut explains in non-technical language a plan to provide sustained retirement income in a diversified portfolio mostly centered in the Closed End Fund universe. He uses a conversational style to walk the reader through all the anticipated questions that inevitably come up. He is happy to share from his forty years of money management experience to help anyone with a retirement nest egg to build income in a safe and diversified manner. Highly Recommend this book if you are looking to grow your retirement funds.

This book is an easy read packed with real information. I've put into practice what he's talking about for 6 months now with great results. These are simple-to-understand practices focused on income investing that most people can do. No need to do the traditional 4% spend down in retirement. Provides a unique approach to income focused investing. This is something fresh if you are use to the typical buy and hold stocks and/or index funds and increase to more bonds as you age or accumulate a portfolio of dividend paying stocks that is present in most literature on investing for your future.
