"By Definition" by Maya Lin; "A Language for Art" by Tan Lin
From the Project History statement by Jay "When University faculty and staff sought to commission the internationally known artist, Maya Lin, to design a public art piece that symbolized and gave expression to the University mission, no one could have foreseen of imagined the incredible shared experience it became for so many of us. Maya's choic of artistic expression -- a combination of definition and visual beauty of the written translations of the word "art" on glass and in stone -- resonates with each of us as to how we value and treasure the different cultrues and languages represented at and by New Jersey City University." The book consists of two essays and a series of biographies of art students.
