This would be a helpful summary and character guide to supplement the reading of the actual plays. I was hoping it would be a way to expose my 7th grades to Shakespeare, but I don’t junk many of these would enjoy it.

I love Shakespeare's plays, and this book is a good introduction and companion to reading or watching them. The clearly told synopsis of each of the ten plays is illustrated with pictures by various artists. There are many quotes from the plays, and an analysis of the main characters. A short biography and timeline for Shakespeare and the plays are also included. The index is clear and comprehensive. The only quarrel I have with the book is that only ten plays are included.
