Rafael Yglesias (b. 1954) is a master American storyteller whose career began with the publication of his first novel, Hide Fox, and All After, at seventeen. It's been a long time since I've read a one-star book. Why did I continue to read a book if I knew from a third in that it was one star? I'm not sure. The sex scenes weren't great, and they were numerous. The writing was fine, I suppose. The plot moved along. I suppose it was for the 'send-up of the literary scene of 1980's Manhattan' that kept me going.
