Dances with Prostitutes is the story of the author's life after moving to Costa Rica in his mid fifties and, in particular his and other's experiences with prostitutes as well as (occasionally) "regular" girls and his fellow expatriates. This book is neither porn nor erotica. It necessarily includes sexual content since to try to avoid it would be idiotic and futile. A sincere attempt has been made to give a realistic picture of both the prostitutes, the "profession" and the men who consort with them. The tone is generally light and humorous, but the darker side is also unavoidable. Still, there are real human beings on both sides and if the reader would like to meet some of them, they can be found here.
This book is a odd piece. It is a description of the prostitutes in San Jose, Costa Rica visited by the author, whether or not they were any good, and which bar end what circumstance he met them. I have seen it billed as fiction and non-fiction. If it is fiction, it is poorly written with no plot. If it is non-fiction, it is a rather boorish account of how an aging American had sex with numerous Central American women.
Not recommended unless you want to look at the attitude of a male sex tourist.
