Very interesting book; it gave insights about the people and places in pre-Independence Malaya. There had been beautiful buildings of the past that had, unfortunately, been demolished and is no more today. And readers can also learn here and there about the lifestyles of the people back then. Who knew there was an elephant race way back in early 1900s Kedah?
