The Palmae (Arecaceae) are economically important as good crops, edible oils, timber and ornamental crops. This book discusses members of the Catabotrydaceae, Phaeochoraceae and Phyllachoraceae families occurring in association with palms. Keys to the genera and species involved in the study are provided, and their taxonomy discussed. Illustrations of ascospores and fungi on host tissues are included. Information on morphology, hosts and geographical distribution is also given. A section describing excluded and dubious taxa is included, along with lists of references and newer taxa and combinations. An index of fungal names and a host list are provided.
