The author of HALLOWEEN: FIRST HALLOWEEN WORDS IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH managed to successfully create a Halloween encyclopedia (for babies and toddlers) with beautiful graphics. Images are professionally designed and easy to recognize Allhallows Eve symbols such as a pumpkin, a witch, a ghost, etc. The book - no matter how small - provides parents with an opportunity to create a bilingual environment., therefore teaching babies and toddlers to honor two languages. Because knowledge of two languages not only increases brain power but provides a significant academic advantage. Katrina Gallagher's book may not only bring cognitive benefits but also drive bilingual families together and help them enjoy the same book...

From witch (bruja) to haunted house (casa encantada) this little book covers all things Halloween! The simple white line artwork is effective and introducing a foreign language to children in this age group is an amazing gift for kids. Bilingual people have such an incredible advantage in this world.

"Halloween" is suitable for introducing toddlers to the themes and images that go along with this event. It is also useful for older children who would like to recognize Halloween words in both Spanish and English. It is great for stimulating any child's imagination with only a white image on each black page.

A great book to introduce very young children to Halloween vocabulary in both Spanish and English. The high contrast black and white pictures are very well done. The author also includes a pronunciation chart at the end for both languages. This is a wonderful tool for parents.

I love bilingual books and I also love Halloween! What a clever idea to combine the two! The black and white illustrations are superb and will attract the eye of young readers. A very creative book that should be in every home this Halloween season.
