Androids, science, and magic. All exist in tandem. Despite this idea, an alternate truth is transpiring on the streets of the U.K. The time-magic detective Sai, her computer adept sister Ren, and their android friend Blue set forth to uncover a new mystery. An incurable strain of mana poisoning rampages through England's citizens and the HW Detective Agency is determined to uncover the plot...no matter how many times it kills Sai.
Christopher was born in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Chrystal and Lenny. As he grew, he developed a love for storytelling expressed through various forms of media. Though this love initially took root through films and American comics, both in paper and animated, this love eventually crossed over into the world of manga and anime.
What started with Rurouni Kenshin, became deeper with Black Lagoon, and full on grabbed him with Bleach, eventually led Chris to realize he wanted to develop stories with these aesthetics in mind. That wasn't all, during his upbringing, he discovered the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of the illustrious detective, Sherlock Holmes. Between his stories and the stories from a little anime called Detective Conan: Cased Closed, Chris realized how badly he wanted to craft his own mystery with the aesthetics of a world like Ghost in the Shell or Psycho-Pass.
This gave birth to Revysed, but it is just one example of how he was influenced to create. His other works Edge of the End and Death of Darkness were equally inspired by anime works such as Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and video games like Devil May Cry 3.
Do you like sci-fi, fantasy, and Sherlock Holmes? If so, you will love this book. That is not to say that you will love every character (in fact, you may even grow to despise some), but that's exactly the point - this story not only entertains, but it makes you feel and think about things that many of us ignore on a daily basis. I won't get into details (I want you to experience it all for yourself!), but if you're looking for a story that's thrilling and deeply threaded with societal questions and heartfelt emotions, then I suggest giving Revysed a read. Oh, and did I mention there was magic?
And, while you're at it, please give Blue a hug for me :) Dane and Ren can have one too, but NONE for Sai.
