Review :
The author of the book, Abhaidev pen name of
Mayank Chandna, became one of my go to Indian author. As I have read his previous four works and all are different from one another.
And in this book we follow Oliver Brewster, the nation's action superstar. The book starts with him doing an interview and the interviewer keeps forcing him to face that he's "just a pretty face with a well-toned muscular body and nothing else." So he ends up in a bad mood and it becomes weirder when he finds a single strip of paper inside his pocket. When he first check the paper nothing was written on it, but in the second checking he finds some unusual writing on it, feels magical -
"Don't throw the paper away".
Then another instruction -
"Put it back in your pocket".
And this piece of paper keeps on advising him, suggesting him on things and we get to see if it turns out good for him or it becomes his downfall.
What I like the most in the book and also the main focus of the book is Oliver's character, his character development, the understanding he finally gains and the twist at the end.
I like the thrilling, mysterious part of finding out how those writings are working, the twists in the book too. Which is going to keep you engaged to the story, even though it's in a medium pace book.
So overall it's a story about finding oneself, with philosophical ideas, spirituality with the themes of mystery, thriller with some crazy twists. So definitely would recommend. It's worth a read.

We all wish to find a meaning for our life and for every action. But there is no need to search for it and everything happens for a reason already in nature. Living in the flow is the only option. Get into this novel to search for meaning and meaninglessness.

His life unfolds lots of secrets during his psychiatric sessions. In Spite of his name and fame, many aspects are meticulously depicted when showing his internal fear.

The style of writing is connecting and articulate which brings readers into Oliver's reality and the difficulties that he faces as he wrestles with the newly discovered point of view achieved by the secretive note.

Abhaidev's book "The Meaninglessness of Meaning" is a wonderful story of an action superstar, Oliver Brewster. Through his story, author Abhaidev gives a message to readers that “The search for meaning is as meaningless as the meaning itself.”
The story starts with an interview of Oliver where we get to know his egoistic nature. Oliver calls himself a cool dude and most handsome man in the world.
Things take a turn when he finds a piece of paper that fell from his blazer's pocket. Every time the note appears, it gives a warning to Oliver but he doesn't follow it. The warnings were to not go with Sandhya, to wash his hands, not doing Sahil's movie, not accepting the packet of drugs and so on.
Oliver was such a person who wanted to be ordered by only the director. He didn't wanted to be advised by anyone else, specially the magical note.
The story will also show you other side of Oliver through his relationship with Riya. Later Oliver realises that it's his guardian angel who is advising him for his good.

So the plot opens up with Oliver, an action superstar in the country at an interview. What seems to be a easy going interview turns to a heated debate about how acting is an art and being an action superhero isn't really acting. While the debate goes on, one gets a clear picture of Oliver's persona, though portrayed as a man sure of himself and confident in his place, it does seem that the tag of not really an actor bothers him enough to lose his cool during a media interview.
The duality of the character portrayed from the very beginning is phenomenal.
Further as the story proceeds that though arrogant and despite his irritation with things in general, Oliver does respect the fame and the love that he gets from his fans.
The interaction between Oliver and the blank piece of paper which changes its messages as the situation changes is really interesting to read.
We see Oliver making a lot of choices based on what the piece of paper says and those choices makes the stories even more interesting. It's a bit like Sophie's choice, but how serious the implications are of those choices is not known until Oliver has made those choices.
I really enjoyed the book. I will recommend it to those who enjoy action packed fiction. This one goes up there to one of the best stories by the author, and I have read several of Abhaidev's work, and I enjoyed this one the most.
