I recommend this book to anyone seeking more peace in life. Each story shares at least one of the many principles that govern peace and how to obtain more of it. No one story is the begin all and end all regarding peace, but each is worth reading to gain insight and understanding regarding peace.

After reading this book, I wish to add my own thoughts regarding peace:

Peace can be strengthened and rediscovered many times over. It is not a one-time event and then you're done, living "happily ever after," because life is a steady stream of trials that continually challenge peace. Even so, when we live in harmony with the principles that govern peace, the consequence is peace in larger measure, rediscovered over and over again. It diminishes, even erases, fear. It becomes a very real and sustaining influence during harsh trials. It can be challenging to recognize the blessings that bear witness of peaceable things in life, especially in the midst of great trials. But when we pause and look for them, the evidences of peace can always be found, and we should gratefully acknowledge them and give thanks.

For me, the greatest source of all peace is Jesus Christ and His gospel. How grateful I am for my testimony of Him, my relationship with Him, and the measureable blessing of peace that He bestows upon me daily. As I look to Him and obey His teachings, my peace grows, and for that I am eternally grateful.

I had to read this all at once, I always have to do that with hard stories. They were incredible and inspiring, but as the title suggests, they are stories of triumph over great suffering and pain. It's always better for me to just take it all at once, rather than take a few weeks to get through something like this.

I really enjoyed the variety of content, and of course every woman's prose is unique and so individual, I loved that too. I'm finally getting a grasp on the role that adversity is supposed to have in my life, and so these stories really reaffirmed these basic truths for me.

This book contains personal accounts from a number of women about how they found peace amid difficult and challenging circumstances. I wrote a chapter in this book and would recommend this book to anyone seeking peace and personal fulfillment.

My 5 star rating is just for my late mothers essay: Mercedes Ruiz Wiederhold. I've only read a few of the others.
