Office Secrets: The Other

Secret office romance and more secrets.

Lately, I've been coming to terms with the possibility that I might not have my happily ever after, after all.

Pausing my quest for love, I embarked on a work trip with a colleague of mine who I wasn’t particularly fond of. He was quite the opposite of me, and to be honest, his wit and energy irritated me.

Imagine my surprise, to find myself falling in love with this guy? I guess working with him, and sharing moments with him during the trip, that sprung forth feelings I never knew were existent.

With him feeling the same way, we decide to make our relationship official while keeping it a secret at work.

Yet, my excitement is short-lived the moment I learn of a secret Tobias had kept hidden for years.

The question is, is Tobias willing to do what it takes for the sake of our love?

Healing With The Power Of The Lord -
This was a really intense story, that had so much packed into the storyline. I didn't think I was going to like Tobias in the beginning, but the more the story unfolded, I got to know him better as each page turn told the story of what he went through, which made me understand him better. The connection between Tobias and Evelyn may not have started out on a positive note, but spending time together and getting to know each other better, helped them build a relationship.

However, the secret Tobias was keeping from Evelyn nearly cost them the chance at having a happy life together. Luckily, finally revealing his secret to Evelyn and taking the time out to resolve the problem, helped her realise their love for each other was worth fighting for. This is the first book I have read from this author and I can assure you that it was an enjoyable read.

This is the first book that I have read by this Christian author. The book had likable characters, but I was not overly thrilled with how she portrayed Tobias. I almost put it down when the ghost appeared, but I continued to the end.
I felt that the book was very short, almost a novella, taking less than two hours to read. I would have liked it to have been longer, but the author did get the story across in those chapters.
I would read another book by this author.

Although the book had an interesting storyline with a twist, I have to be honest that the writing itself was not good. The main issues with the writing for me were: the author should work on 'show don't tell', and the dialogues were long, boring, and often irrelevant.

A further problem for me was that from a Christian perspective, the book has a lot of blasphemy in it. If you write for a Christian market blasphemy is a definite no-no.

Nope nope.
So poorly written I would not be surprised if it were discovered it was AI generated. Clunky. Weird word choices.
Awful depiction of Christian life.
And the ghost!
Just no.
(If I could give half a star I would)

Short Novella…. Kinda quirky because it involves a ghost (Casper?) which constantly gives bad advice to the male lead character (Tobias)… The storyline is entertaining, but the conclusion to the book just didn’t come together very well.

A quick easy read. With a ghost. It all falls into place eventually. A religious theme runs through the story.

Sometimes what you are looking for is right in front of you and not in the package you expect. Lovely read, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Evelyn has been unlucky when it comes to relationships. She is tired of dating and wants to find her HEA. Tobias is the new guy at work. Everyone loves him, but he's younger and has a secret that might be more than she can get past. They love each other but will they be able to get past their differences? What is his secret? Will he be willing to work through his past issues so he can have a future?
This book caught me off guard as it's slightly different from the authors other books but I still enjoyed it and it has a good message.

I received an ARC via Story Origin. Review voluntarily given.

A great story. The topic of Casper made me think, then I got it. Very realistic. Funny too
