Each day the Studer Group asks themselves, "Have I made a difference." If your company cannot answer this question in the affirmative, then they should study this book, which aims at helping healthcare organizations achieve higher quality with lower costs by training you to hardwire excellence.

Teetered between 3-4 stars on this audiobook, but ultimately landed on 3.

Culture of High Performance is definitely geared to the the Healthcare executive however many of the lessons are transferable to any industry.

Reasons I gave it only 3 stars:
- Constant referring to their website and other books they wrote. I like getting referrals to other books, it just seemed that so many were this author's books that at times I felt I was being pitched.
- I'm not really sure that any of the concepts were new. Maybe they are in a specific healthcare setting, but seems very similar to other books I have read on culture.

One reason I was pushing toward 4 is that this book did a great job of demonstrating the value of employees in a good healthcare organization. Pulling at heartstrings with examples of great nursing and patient care, helping families in times of crisis. The book did do a very good job of laying out just how important your employees are to a high performance culture.

A few chapters with some good common sense help. At 61 I'm beginning to wonder what I have yet to learn - not that I don't, I get that one always has learning opportunities - it's just I'm not convinced I needed this book. I intend though to take three chapters back to my Managers and Supervisors to focus on. Get them to the gems. So, the book was worth the time as it makes me think a bit about leadership and not the hottest problem of the day.
