About the author

I have been a professional writer for over 25 years and have written many non-fiction books and curriculum resources for children and schools. My publishers include BBC Active, Ginn, Heinemann, Longman, and PCET. A few years ago, I achieved a long-term ambition by completing my first novel for 8-11 year olds: ‘The Stephensons’ Rocket’, about a former champion greyhound and the family who adopt him. This was very popular and led to two further books in the series, ‘And Rocky Too’ and ‘Rocky’s Home Run’.

Recently I’ve moved away from writing for children, into working with, and for, adults. This year, I completed a collection of short stories, ‘Getting Away’ now available from Amazon as an ebook. I also teach creative writing in and around Salisbury, Wilts, and have helped several course members achieve their first publications.

This year, writing for the stage has become a completely new venture for me. I think it is really important to be always challenging myself with different forms of writing, for different audiences. One of my first short plays, ‘The Watchers’ was produced by Timezone Theatre as part of their State of Fear programme and performed at Southwark Playhouse in October 2015.
