Is it Coincidence, Chance or Kismet

Noah
The first time we met, I called it Coincidence.
The second time, I called it Chance.
The third time, I called it Kismet.
I became expectant and ready for the next meet, but I wasn’t prepared for the secret.
No, I'm not letting her go. Our fate was sealed at that first meeting. She’s mine.

Kate
The first time we met, a glimpse of light shined on my dark cloud.
The second time, he rescued me, and I missed the chance to get his information.
The third time, I blew it despite mother nature’s efforts to bring us together.
The next time we meet, I won’t let him walk away but will he stay once he discovers my secrets?

Themes OF Kismet: A Multicultural Meet Cute Romance was a delightful read. I have not read anything from A. Akinosho before and I was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me a bit of the movie Serendipity.
They say third time’s a charm but, in this case, "fourth time's a charm" in this little gem of a story. Our characters meet several times throughout their lives, but it is the fourth time that they won’t let anything stand in their way.
Kismet has a lot to answer for in this tale. Kismet is a finical and persistent creature and not to be trifled with when it comes to love.
Unfortunately, Noah and Ebun's journey is not sunshine and roses. This lovely romance story is a twisty road to love. Being from different cultures plays a lot in the story but it makes for a sweet tale.
The characters are well developed and A. Akinosho writing style make this a charming tale.
It has all the feels and is filled with drama, angst, betrayal, lies, secrets, frustrations, hopes, dreams and humour but let’s not forget the danger that is lurking just around the corner.
If you like a sweet romance tale, then Themes OF Kismet is for you.

Love Noah and Ebun

Noah and Ebun met the first time in a bookstore at an airport, and he read to her. Then he met her again at an airport, and they remembered each other, but she had to leave. The third time they met again at an airport, and they spent time together, but again one if they had to leave. The third time was kismet and they both knew they see each other again. When that times comes they have a-lot of secrets and danger to get through. Can they be together when it seems everything is against them? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. I love Noah and Ebun and their dynamic. Excellent supporting characters. This book has all the feels humor, angst, and the spice is nice. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last.

Spice 🌶️

Second chance romance, miscommunication, multiple POV, friends to lovers, meet cute, impossible romance, interracial, HEA

I really wanted to like this book much more than I did. I honestly almost DNF a couple times but I powered through. The actual love story itself is cute. The kismet and complete happenstance that they continue to meet again and again in different places is adorable. I got so invested in their love story. While it is a HEA there is a lot of bumps along the way for them to end up together include multiple times they end things.

The secondary plot is not well written. There’s just enough detail to make it suspenseful but always with details being left out. I was completely done with the book when there was a complete miscommunication that led to many characters being unhappy. Even adults could’ve had one phone call and all would have been revealed. The amount of times Ebun keeps things to herself, that if she shared, would’ve created so much resolution. It was hard to sit on the edge of my seat in suspense because so much information was lacking.

The entire book is written is Ebun & Noah’s POV. But at the end of the book randomly there are chapters from other peoples perspectives and very little from the MCs so that was a weird way to end the book.

I would call this a 1/5 on the 🌶️ spice scale. In the beginning of the book the first couple spicy scenes that have some detail. But the 3-5 spicy scenes are not really described and more fade to black or closed over. I wish the other scenes in the book had been described like they were in the beginning. That would’ve made all their breaking up and getting back together worth it.

One of my favorite quotes:

I stood there for a moment looking at her; the realization of my love for her hit me like a bolt of lightning. When she opened her eyes and looked at me. It was my realization then that I could never walk away from her. It clicked to me that she’s the love of my life.

Themes of Kismet by A. Akinosho was a super cute story. It seemed fate always worked in Ebun and Noah’s favor. I could definitely pick up on the differences in language and culture but it made the story that much sweeter. The story was cute but a little confusing at times. Ebun has lost her parents and is forced to move for her safety. Noah is the typical jock in both high school and college. The pair meet a few times though out their lives to realize they should be together. I would have liked a little more information about her background and why she needed to leave and what the deal was after her fathers passing. It would have helped in understanding why she needed protected. I did appreciate the story from each viewpoint. Reading one and then the other. It made it exciting to read what each thought about the particular encounter. Overall I liked this story and am happy that this is the first I read by this author.

What if there is ever a chance encounter at an airport bookstore of meeting an individual whom you may believe is destined for you? This is the story of Noah and Ebun....15 years in the making... this story is a really good multicultural romance that definitely had its share of angst, drama, romance with loss and love along the way.

Noah and Ebun keep meeting on chance coincidences at airport bookstore every few years. Noah was totally drawn at first sight to this beautiful and sad girl. As years progress and their encounters ensure to being more.....family threats and cultural differences make their love for each other stretch with bumps....but will their love survive in the end?

This is a very good story overall. The only thing was toward the ending it felt a bit rushed with certain situations that come about that I wish could have more depth. Overall very good story!

This book follows the story of Kate and Noah. Kate has been through a lot in her life but she is looking for a brighter future. Noah is intelligent and enjoys being with his friends.

They met when they were young and didn't know much about the world. They exchange words but not much else. Then something happens and by chance, they run into each other again. After a little while they meet again in a new place. After so many chance run-ins with one another can this still be considered chance?

What happens when you meet the same person in multiple phases of your life? Are they meant to be a part of it or just a lesson? Will secrets cause a rift? Can they handle all that is thrown at them in their own lives? Read this book to find out Kate's secrets and find out if fate is real or an illusion.

Please please read reviews for content warnings. There are some very sensitive topics that need to be noted. This was a good story, although not a favorite. I did enjoy these characters and story building. I wanted more I think out of this but that could just be a me problem. However, Kate and Noah did have good chemistry between the two of them and that did keep me going throughout this story.

I absolutely loved it. I had a serendipity (90's movie) feel to it, which I also loved when I was young. There were even some twists in it which I was not expecting !
It was super cute, I now plan to read more of this authors work.

This was my first read by this author. Despite the fact that she gets too wordy sometimes but not wordy enough others, overall a delightful read. There were enough twists and turns, curves out of nowhere to keep you reading.

Noah is your typical 13 year old boy, but even moodier because his vacation is getting cut short because of his little sister’s accident. When his mother decides to take him on a walk in the airport to improve his mood, Noah doesn't expect to find the love of his life. She was reaching for a book on a high shelf, Noah grabbed for her and when she appeared too distraught to read, Noah read to her. That chance meeting in an airport sealed their fates together.

When Noah sees her again, he remembers her. She remembers him. Ebun can’t believe her luck. When things are falling apart around her, she crosses paths with the one person that seems to calm her storms, if only briefly. Ebun’s life is not what it seems to be. When her mother died, she thought she would be going to live with her father only to discover that he was appointing a guardian for her and she was going to remain in London. Ebun and her father visit and spend time with each other but it is not the same. When her father dies unexpectedly, Ebun is left without family except for the half-brother’s she didn’t even know she had.

Life gets more complicated for Ebun when one of her brothers threatens her life and tries to steal her inheritance. This causes Ebun to lead a life of constant movement, never staying in one place for very long, constantly changing her looks, using colored contacts as part of her disguise, and limiting the number of people close to her. When she crosses paths with Noah for a third time, she takes the chance and spends more time with him. As they get to know one another, Noah and Ebun quickly fall in love with the other but never say it. Ebun’s life is still in too much flux for her to settle down or want to bring Noah into her drama.

Over the course of the next several years, Noah and Ebun travel to be with each other across the globe. When Noah pushes for more, Ebun runs. She is too afraid of the family drama to allow her heart what it desires, a life with Noah. As family and friends stick their noses into Noah and Ebun’s relationship, drama and chaos ensue. Hearts are broken. New bonds are forged. Long, lost family is discovered. Stalkers issue threats. Can Noah and Ebun ever find happiness? One can not deny the pull of kismet, the strings of fate.

Take the time to cross the globe in love and adventure with Noah and Ebun. It is worth it.

Themes of Kismet by A. Akinosho. This is such a good contemporary fiction love story. Its the story of Noah and Ebun and how true love will always find a way. Noah meets Ebun for the first time when he is 13 years old, in a book store, in the airport and he reads to her. Ebun was terribly upset and Noah calmed her down by reading to her. They had to part ways to go to their separate homes. Years late they meet again and Ebun feels like her life is falling apart. Her mom has passed and instead of living with her father he appoints a guardian for her. Late he passes and she is left with no one. Noah knows how to calm her and feel like she belongs but once again they have to separate. When they meet for a 3rd time they vow to not separate again. The more time they spend together the more they fall in love but have to travel to be with each other. Will the 3rd time be their fated chance to have love forever?

First, can we take a moment to fully appreciate this beautiful cover- it's just stunning!
Themes of Kismet by A. Akinosho is a sweet, ‘meet cute’ romance that tells a tale of fated love, second (third, and fourth) chances, secrets, drama, cultural differences, challenges, danger, emotion, and more.
Our MC’s are in the hands of fate from an early age. Meeting several times over the years before finally getting the ‘message’. But, even then, the author doesn’t make it too easy for them, making them work for their chance at happiness. The story is sweet, but also interwoven with secrets, drama, angst, and danger which makes the book all the more engrossing.
I enjoyed this first read of Ms. Akinosho’s work and look forward to seeing what she does next.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, A. Akinosho!

Themes of Kismet
By: A. Akinosho

This book was honestly a pretty good read, it was the first book that I have read from this author. A. Akinosho introduces us to two people, the main characters who met the person they love from a young age. The problem is, they didn’t realize that it was fate until they grew older. Throughout the years, they keep bumping into each other and every time the feelings that they have had since a young age…still burn deeply, but they don’t get the sign until years down the road. This leads to so much of the story line, especially including the many cultural differences the main characters have to deal with. This doesn’t stop the two main characters finding their way back to one another. I definitely recommend reading this story! It is so good and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Themes of Kismet
By: A. Akinosho

This book was honestly really good. This focuses on two people who met the person who is your true love when you were a young child / teenager. But it isn’t enough for them to meet once, they kept meeting over and over again. But not only is there this, it has a focus on a multicultural romance. This leads to much of the story line - there are cultural differences, racism and tension stemming from all that. However, the two main characters find their way back to one another. This book does focus on the importance of clear communication. These two lost a lot of time together because of miscommunication. I definitely recommend reading this story! It is sooooo very good!

Themes of Kismet was not quite what I expected. I had high hopes due to the intriguing premise of it being about kismet. The story was there but I felt like it didn't flow very smoothly. It was very disjointed and I felt like the author repeated many things over and over. The characters were very lovable and realistic, but seemed almost larger than life. Not many individuals can travel the globe as frequently as these characters nor find themselves in the midst of receiving death threats. Overall, I did like the book, but I wish it had more substance and more to the ending, as I felt like the conclusion came rather quickly in relation to the rest of the book. I would definitely like to see more books with this kind of story line though.

Themes OF Kismet: A Multicultural Meet Cute Romance

If only their story had been as easy as I was expecting it to be. Noah meets the girl he wants to marry at 13 years old in a bookstore, and can't forget her as time passed until they run into one another 5 years later.

Kate's life was the exact opposite of easy and has some pretty dark times over the years, but the one light was Noah.

I found myself getting frustrated with both of them for various reasons through most or the book and aside from the interactions as children their time in Dubai was probably my favorite interaction.

This was my first experience reading anything by this author and overall enjoyed the book. Looking forward to reading her develope and evolve as an author.

Themes OF Kismet: A Multicultural Meet Cute Romance: I had a hard time getting through this one. Not the from the regard of it being a mushy romance; it's a meet cute. It's in the title. Expected that. The book feels like a first attempt for the author. I had to back read quite a few times to try and figure out what was being said due to sentence structure, but also to figure out who new characters were and how they played into the book. Not enough introducing of one particular character left me wondering just WHO he was everytime he was mentioned, and HOW he had the sort of power it seemed he had. It was a struggle to finish. It was a cute idea for the book, just a little lacking in execution.

I liked the premise of the plot for this book; however, I think that it could have been done better. Overall it just felt a little too adolescent and childish to me. I thought Akinosho's writing itself was spectacular and I quite like how she developed her characters but there was just something that I can't quite put my finger on about the plot that didn't vibe with me. I understand the theory of kismet and the concept of using it for the basis of your writing is fantastic, but there was just something about this book that didn't quite hit the mark for me. That being said, it's not a bad book. I liked the character development and the writing is great. I'm just on the fence about it...

The description for this book intrigued me from the moment I read it and I knew I had to give this book a go. This was a new author to me so I really didn’t know what to expect when I started reading. The book was well written and had a great concept at its core. The description made it sound like the characters only met when they were older so I liked that I learnt this wasn’t the case.
I found myself really engaging with the characters. I loved watching their journey unfold as the book progressed. The author tells their story so well and I found the whole experience to be enjoyable. This was a great introduction to a new author and I am looking forward to discovering more.

Themes of Kismet has so much potential! It has an interesting plot with great characters that you really grow to love (and hate) because they're well-developed.
Noah and Ebun feel destined to be together after many chance encounters, or maybe it is kismet. Time after time, something gets in the way of them being able to live they lives they so desire. Communication has the ability to make or break their relationship.
Kismet and meet cute really are fun underlying themes. As far as the story goes, it is an easy read. At times, the actions and lack of communication are quite juvenile, but so are the characters.

Themes of Kismet: A multicultural meet cute romance by A. Akinosho is exactly what it claims. The story follows Noah and Ebun over 15 years of love and loss. An accidental meeting in an airport bookstore is love at first sight. Although they are children, and have no idea how to contact each other, both Noah and Ebun feel the spark. Chance meetings happen again and again until the two truly connect.

The story is told from different points of view and is easy to follow. Not really knowing the cultures spoken of in this book, I found parts hard to understand but the story itself speaks of destiny in love.

Third time is a kismet!!! This book is an absolute gem that I adore. It's sweet and gives you all the feels. Themes of Kismet is a serendipitous romance with charm and intrigue. Noah and Ebun's journey to HEA is a testament to the power of fate and love.

The story begins with a delightful meet-cute at an airport bookstore, where Noah and Ebun's paths first cross. Noah, with his enchanting gesture of reading to her, sets the stage for a connection that transcends mere chance encounters. The second time they meet at an airport again and it only deepens the intrigue. However, it's the third meeting that truly sparks their connection, as they spend quality time together.

The book is not just a love story; it's also filled with secrets, betrayal, and danger lurking around every corner which kept me engaged. Additionally, Noah and Ebun are from different cultures, which added depth, richness and juiciness.

I enjoyed the self-sacrificing love, humour, angst, and undeniable spice in the book.

This book has a captivating plot, well-developed characters, and a perfect blend of emotions.

A fantastic read!
Ebun and Noah are destined to be together. They meet by chance on multiple occasions when they were young...three times.
Years later when they are both adults what are the chances, they cross paths once more... 4 times a charmed!
There are challenging times ahead and the suspense is palpable throughout. This was a first time read by this author and won't be the last.
I absolutely loved this book which kept me thinking what was to come, what twist was going to throw me off track and the feeling that Ebun and Noah were destined to be together.

❤️❤️❤️❤️

I must say that A Akinosho is becoming one of my favorite authors. I genuinely enjoy reading about Noah and Ebun’s romance. I couldn't even put the book down. I was so invested.

Their story made me reflect on the importance of open communication. If only they communicated better, some of their heartache could have been avoided. But I do understand Ebun's reasons. I'm so mad at Noah's father. I don't think I could forgive him.

But read the book!!! I'm looking forward to another story by the author.

Per usual, I really enjoy how authors show both sides of the story instead of one character's perspective. It allows us to see more and get a better understanding of the story as a whole.

Ebun and Noah were clearly meant to be. Like ordinary couples, they have their own issues and some that come to affect each other. I loved seeing how they kept coming together through the years and how their love never seemed to dissipate.

It is a fantastic read that can be gone through in 48 hours, at least... I did haha. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This is a really lovely book that tells the love story of two people, Noah and Ebun.

Romance is hard. Love is difficult. What happens when you throw in a multiple cultures, threats, betrayal, death, suspense, and feelings of not being enough? You get a roller-coaster that is well worth the ride. This lovely story starts with the first chance meeting of Noah and Ebun in an airport, and their subsequent meetings after until they find love in each other's hearts. While this was a little bit slower to read, it was absolutely beautiful and worth every minute!

I gave this book no stars on purpose. Normally I would give at least one star just for the creative try, but I can't bring myself to do that here. This book was in desperate need of a copy edit. It was so ridiculous, it made this book hard to read.

People are spending time and in some cases money for this half effort, the least this author could have done was find someone to make sure that, what they are putting out makes some linear sense; or spend some extra time doing it.

Save your time, your patience, and most of all your money. There are much better reads out there in this genre.

Eebun and Noah’s story is bittersweet. They start by meeting in airports. By the third meeting, they are venturing into the world. The big challenge is that she is trying not to die.Her half-brothers are out to kill her. It’s a story with emotions, challenges and a couple of substories. It’s beautiful, sad, and a few other emotions. I found that I couldn’t put it down. I really wanted to see how it was going to end up because they had a few obstacles to overcome. It’s a book worth reading.

Nerve-wracking...suspenseful

This was my first time reading this author, and I was not disappointed. Imagine meeting your true love at 13 & 10. And to keep meeting them? Must be a sign! Amidst the challenges of cultural differences, racism, death threats, Noah and Ehbon still manage to find their way to each other. Oh the miscommunication was unreal. So much wasted time and loss. My heart was about shredded. I would suggest other people read this one. It was good story!

The path to love for Ebun and Noah is anything but simple and smooth that is for sure but this wonderful author takes you on a captivating journey with these characters and will keep you turning page after page. I loved the way Noah and Ebun kept bumping into each other years apart and how Noah just knew right from the start that their was something so special between them. This is a new author for me and I am positive it won't be the last time I read this authors work.
