Since his wife, Nancie, divorced him, Wren Nickelson has felt like a failure. But finding himself with spare time, Wren decides to take up the one thing he's always wanted to write.

One day as Nancie drops off their two daughters for a weekend visit, she spies Wren's manuscript. Unable to squelch her curiosity, she begins to read it—and after finding that her ex-husband has used her name for the selfish heroine, Nancie feels she must finish her reading. Before long, she decides she wants her husband back.

But is she too late? Have Wren's dreams caused him to fall in love with someone else?

About the author

Andrea Kuhn Boeshaar has been married for more than 30 years. She and her husband, Daniel, have three adult sons, daughters-in-law, and two precious grandchildren. Andrea's educational background includes the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where she studied in English, and Alverno College where she studied in Professional Communications and Business Management.

Andrea has been writing stories and poems since she was a little girl; however, it wasn't until 1984 that she started submitting her work for publication. Eight years after that, she was convicted about writing for the Christian market. She read books in her genre (Inspirational Romance & Women's Fiction), studied the market, and worked hard to hone her craft.

I didn't read this edition. I found this novel in the anthology "Forever yours".
First I want to make clear that I am indeed a re-born christian. But what I found in this book was a sterotype that is just repellent.
There's this divorced couple, Wren (what kind of name is that anyway?), a loving, caring, endlessly patient, nicer than anyone can be, devoted christian and Nancie, the material girl, selfish, mean, her only goal is her career.
Of course all of a sudden she becomes a christian and three weeks later she has changed radically, leaves her career behind, following the head of the family wherever he wants, re-marries him and everything is just fine.
This is indeed a "castle in the clouds" that has got nothing to do with reality.

This story was very stereotypical and a bit overdone with the religious parts. I thought it was kind of unbelievable that Wren (the Christian ex-husband) was so good and nearly perfect while Nancie (a non-Christian and his ex-wife) was so mean, self-centered, and just nasty. Then, when she became saved, she almost immediately became perfect, like Wren. I really disliked that.
