Guardians of Aranor: Rebirth

In Guardians of Aranor , by David J. Neumaier meet Horus and Drocan, two powerful beings born of ancient elemental magic, who find themselves recruited by opposing sides of a relentless conflict. Horus and Drocan become pawns in a years-long war that will test their beliefs, challenge their loyalties, and ultimately force them to question what they hold dear. Horus joins forces with the Kingdom of Haven, a nation historically cruel towards his kind, while Drocan is drafted into the Army of Ubel, an undead force that seeks to maintain control over the fallen city of Aranor. As the story of Guardians of Aranor unfolds, Horus and Drocan discover the true nature of their powers, their destinies bound to the fates of their respective kingdoms. Alongside love and sacrifice, they must navigate treacherous battles and fragile alliances. The stakes are higher than ever as both sides vie for supremacy over the strategic city, knowing that only one can emerge victorious. In their journey, they find the lines between good and evil blur, as the fate of Aranor hangs in the balance.

i picked up this book with pretty low expectations, but i ended up really enjoying it! i am a big fantasy reader so i enjoyed the magic system and the battle elements that the book contained. i also really enjoyed most of the characters. i found myself very invested in both Drocan and Horus’ character development and their relationships with the side characters, especially the romance. i found this book really funny, and the humor just added a whole new element to the story. all in all i thought this was a great book, and i can’t wait to read more!

If you enjoy fantasy, sword fights, archery, magic, epic battles, and Adventure Quest Worlds, then this book has it! It does an excellent job keeping up the pace and setting up characters you'll want to know more about in sequels. Overall, a solid first book from this author!
