Challenging, encouraging look at a church living in some of the most difficult geographical and social conditions. They continued to pray, preach and worship, even when government agents were yelling through bullhorns or blasting sirens in the midst of their gatherings. Their children were interrogated and physically abused in school in an attempt to keep their beliefs from being passed to the next generation. I could go on and on about their hardships and faithful perseverance. They are a great example to Christians in the U.S. in the way they knew and fought for their rights as citizens, but lived knowing they were ultimately citizens of heaven.

An incredible account of believers in Barnaul during the Cold War era. Highly recommend this easy but heart-cutting read of dedication to Christ. I cannot wait to meet these believers in heaven.

This book is about my grandfather and how he went to prison for 20 years when he preached the gospel. I should be getting these books for free.

I was extremely and unexpectedly moved by this book and had no idea how much Christians were persecuted in Soviet Russia until now.
