The apocalypse is on the horizon, and only one man can stop it.
Joined by his Apocalypse Knights, Maximo Strident will face dungeons and monsters at levels never before seen. The worst of all, though, are those deranged parodies of Knights-Errant known as Harbingers.
It's a good thing Max can steal spells, because the world depends on him ascending to heights of power once thought impossible.
I absolutely loved that we got some foreshadowing for the World’s End books here.
Max made a very interesting choice, and rather unique for this genre. The fact that he developed to be slightly more villainous as time progressed, while remaining the hero, was fascinating.
An excellent book, very fast paced and enjoyable. Good world building, likable characters, the only thing I wish for is that the series would have continued instead of ending with this fourth book. If you haven’t read it or read the series, I urge you to do so.
Great series that touches on others from the author and expands into a much larger intriguing universe with endless possibilities. Love what the author has done and looking for more in this universe.
This was still fun, but the MC was so overpowered that there was no tension. There was never any doubt that he would succeed and that made it slightly boring, regardless of all the fights.
