This book was amazing! Te’Arra was just like any other girl who is young, going through life changes and trying to fill up the empty space in the heart. I cried because I saw pieces of myself on this girl when it came to the abuse. I wish I would have listened to my mother. When her mom said that she didn’t like Dray, I was shook. Mothers always knows best! Dray basically watched her from afar on social media and studied her. Once he studied her he took advantage of her and knew her weak spots. Then he turned this into trauma bonding with the lies of him losing his mother. I cried because this young girl has a great head on her shoulder but got caught up in the glitz, false love of a pyscho path who was only out to harm her. The fact he wasn’t remorseful for what he did to his sister sickened me. Im mad that Keema continued to deal with him. Like, you’re no better than the rest. Tabitha knew and said nothing until after the fact. It was great but I wanted more of Kema. Great job Brianna

Te''Arra missed so many red flags with Quadray - the first being how they met. She was way too young to realize that their age difference was a big deal. She was too naive to know never to give him a second chance to physically abuse her. I wasn't really feeling how she and Chance loved each other all those years and never knew or spoke on it. The best part of this book was the last few pages where Te'Arra summed up all she learned from this experience.
Although this was a short read, the author did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. The main characters elicited many emotions from me which made me keep reading. This is also a great cautionary tale for young women. The ending was satisfying and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good story and can handle themes of domestic abuse.
Can't believe I read this under two hours. I was shocked at how fast Tee decided to date Dray, but grief would make you do some unbelievable things. I'm glad she got out when she did and that she had the support system she needed. Overall, it was a good read.
Wow!! This was heavy. But the author did a good job bringing light to certain situations (in speaking in code, trying not to give any spoilers). I’m just happy Te’Arra found her light at the end of the tunnel 👏🏽👏🏽
