Joel Green writes in a balanced way and he appears to be a scholar who considers the importance of the original historical context and occasion of the text- and he provides a very helpful summary on general biblical exegesis here. While this is a standard for any kind of sound biblical exegesis, it is important that the author also draws from his/her experience of the risen Lord.

This book doesn’t deal with each specific Minor or Major Prophet’s literature and it doesn’t provide a systematic way to interpret the different books. It does however provide a helpful overview on the apocalyptic genre and gives you a lens through which the Prophetic material could be read. Again, it is well balanced and i intend on using the teaching of this book to inform my reading while listening to how the Holy Spirit guides me.

This book draws me closer to Jesus while providing some important caveats to interpreting Biblical Prophecy. It is most definitely an important read.

A clear, thought-provoking read, which helpfully sets the quest of understanding Biblical prophecy in the context of how we are called to live.
