Sweet story that will bring a smile to children and parents alike.

A stuffed elephant gets left behind at the airport and a baby picks it up. Mr. Trunks, the stuffed elephant, is sad to have been separated from his child owner. The baby's parents are interested in reuniting Mr. Trunks with his child and use a hashtag Finding Mr Trunks.

For about a page my daughter was sad that a child would lose their beloved stuffed animal, but Mr. Trunks was distracted by the loving concern of his temporary family which comforted my daughter. The photos were sweet and whimsical with animals living among humans and traveling around the same way humans do. The use of social media to reunite the elephant and his child was a fun addition!

Highly recommend this charming children's story that blends whimsical artwork with the effortless connectivity of our modern world through the eyes of a child's lovey.

This was an adorable little story about Libby, who accidentaly looses her toy elephant, Mr Trunks, at the airport. We get to follow Mr Trunks travles to get back to Libby, using social media. The story shows the kindness and helpfulness of people, who do everything they can to get Mr Trunks and Libby reunited.
Great writing and nicely illustrated.

Thank to #netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This book was really cute, but a little hard to understand.
The main thing that made this book more confusing than it needed to be was the dialogue. There were little to no tags on pieces of dialogue, so it was very difficult to know who was talking at each point. The only time I knew who was talking was when it was in first person (Mr. Trunks) or it had a tag on it (i.e. Mom said).
As for the drawings, emotion was articulated beautifully through light and color. You could tell happy parts from sad parts, and energetic parts from slow parts. These choices helped a lot to move the story along with a good flow.
Lastly, the moral was great: return things that aren't yours to the rightful owner. This moral was also conveyed with ease and you did not have to search for it.
All in all a great book, it could just use a little more editing to make the dialogue more specific.

Finding Mr. Trunks is an adorable, emotional, sweet, reminiscent, creative, fun, engaging, and heartfelt story! This book had me saying "aww" and tearing up a little bit. I adore how this story highlights the magic of childhood, children's adoration of their favorite toys, and the toy's adoration for the child they love. Because it is narrated from Mr. Trunks perspective, this book has a Toy Story vibe. What truly struck a chord and reminded me of this classic movie is Mr. Trunks worry and love for his girl with the cat ears when they are accidentally separated. I was rooting for Mr. Trunks to find her the entire story. I also loved that he grew to care for the family who found him. This family did everything they could to ensure Mr. Trunks was reunited with his girl. #FindingMr.Trunks is a phenomenal story which harnesses the power of social media in the most heartwarming way to reunite a stuffed elephant and his girl. We loved this book!!

It showed the wonderful side of social media and how it can be used for good. This book had a wonderful ending. So Mr. Trunks was lost from the little girl's hand, and being found by another family whose baby loved him, and travel they go.

A cute but can be true story when we lost our best friend, and that best friend become someone else's beloved friend. Also a friendly reminder to manage our belongings while travelling.

With cute and accurate illustrations, so real nowadays yet fun to see another city.

Mr. Trunks is an adorable stuffie that gets separated from his child at the airport and the power of social media is used to try and reunite them. The illustrations are very well done, colorful and I love the diversity of the traveling people and animals in this story as well as the locations.

While the concept of showing the positivity of social media in a children’s book is unique, the story became muddled midway through. One reason for this is the lack of specification in the dialogue. It becomes unclear who is speaking at times, which can easily become confusing for the age group this book is geared towards. The Instagram type posts were cute and recognizable, however the social media language is a lot at once. My youngest children are 8 and 10, so it was easy to grasp that concept but may be harder for younger ages.

Overall this is a very cute children’s book that I think many will adore and fall in love with.

Feel free follow my social media accounts, I will be sharing my review of this book prior to the publishing date.

"Mr. Trunks" is an endearing children's book that tells the story of a stuffed elephant that gets separated from its child at the airport. The book centers around the power of social media and how it can be used to reunite lost items with their owners. The illustrations in this book are exceptional, featuring vibrant colours and beautiful depictions of travelling animals and people from diverse backgrounds.

While the book's central idea of showcasing the positive impact of social media on society is unique, one issue is the lack of specificity in the dialogue, which makes it challenging to determine who is speaking at times. This could potentially confuse the target audience, which is primarily children.

The book's use of Instagram-style posts is adorable and adds a relatable aspect to the story. The book's overall message is heartwarming, and it teaches children about the importance of kindness, resourcefulness, and perseverance.

4/5 stars.

A very cute and sweet story about the adventures of a lost toy and it's attempts to return to the child it loves.

What I Liked:
I really enjoyed the plot of this story! The way the whole internet banded together to try to reunite Libby and Mr. Trunks was so sweet, and the illustrations resembling social media posts was such a fun little touch to really capture the feel of the journey!

What I Didn't Like:
At times the text felt a bit disjointed. Flipping back and forth between text in Mr. Trunks' head and dialogue between other characters was not clearly marked apart from the color of the text, and extra explanation regarding who it talking at each point might be required when reading the story aloud to young children.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!

I just reviewed Finding Mr. Trunks by Annemarie Riley Guertin. #FamiliusBooks #NetGalley

My 6 year old loved the book. His favourite part was when Mr Trunks reunited with Libby. It reminded him when he left his own teddy.

The flow was a bit confusing as jumped here and there but the concept of the book was from the viewpoint of Mr Trunks who had gotten lost from his owner Libby at the airport. He embarked on a journey with his temporary family who created social media memories. In the end his foster baby was rewarded with a similar elephant just like him which made him happy.

I thought that this was a really cute pucture book!

Finding Mr Trunks is a lovely little heartwarming story about the positive power of social media which is used to help locate Mr Trunks after he goes missing on holiday and is split up from his owner Libby.

The illustrations in the book are lovely and they work so well with the story - I am so pleased that they did find him as I lost a Beethoven toy myself on a plane when I was younger and we never found him.

It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!

Totally adorable story about a lost, world-traveling stuffie. When Mr. Trunks is inadvertently dropped at the airport in the chaos between Security and Gate 2, he’s frantic to be reunited with his human, Libby. He’s lost and alone until a baby at the airport finds him. But he needs to get back to Libby because she needs him. The baby’s parents discover that Mr. Trunks belongs to someone else and they do all they can to reunite them. But Mr. Trunks has grown attached to the baby. Will he be able to say goodbye?

3.75 - Good
Thoughtful and sincere message to share what you are grateful for. Calming artwork. Portrays social media in a positive light that emphasises connections. Simple plot that shines through the consistent pacing. Flat characters that lack distinct characteristics. Voice of Mr. Trunks lacks wisdom but is abundant in hope. I wish there was a more detailed interaction between Libby and Baby; perhaps an additional page or two would further demonstrate friendship and home.

I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

A sweet story told in cute calming illustrations, but unfortunately it lacks details about the characters and development overall. But it was cute and fun, though it might not hold the attention much.

A darling stuffed elephant, Mr. Trunks, gets lost in an airport and then picked up by another child. When the family realizes, they are far from Mr. Trunk's family. They locate the family and promise to return Mr. Trunks when they return home. Meanwhile, they take photos of all the places that Mr. Trunks travels and post them to social media #FindingMr.Trunks. So cute!
