Our Curious World of Mirror Images: Reflections on How Symmetry Frames Our Universe, Empowers the Creative Process and Provides Context to Shape Our Lives
Introducing a new holistic paradigm that provides a clear new pair of lens - for the mind. This new concept depolarizes our perceptions on reality by reconciling the ancient and deeply compelling paradox known as dualism. As it unravels the greatest mystery of our existential lives, that great enigma that in spirituality led us from "all good", to good & evil; and in science, leads to two laws that we cannot reconcile. However, with this new pair of depolarizing lens, we are able to conceive something quite remarkable, space, time and how existing things are formed in it. This book is very relevant because it is antidote to the social and political ills of our societies. The polarization inherent in our present paradigm creates social diseases such as sexism, racism, wars, and the myriad forms of hate we tend to indulge in. We daily confront the ravages of political neglect that we are forced to bear, as we try to cope with these corrupted ways of being. The benefit of this new holistic paradigm is that it provides a logical, science-based understanding that is so obvious and universal, we are essentially oblivious to it; and, it resolves the greatest paradoxes we face as spiritual beings in a materialistic world. This book promotes well-being for the soul in the evolution of the mind. - Reveals the origin of the invisible field we call Space(Time) - Explains how existing things emerge and form into being - Sheds whole new light on the meaning of GOD - Reconciles the divides between Eastern and Western traditions in religion, science, and philosophy - Bridges Dualism (Separation & Polarization) - Self Actualization Meditations ("I AM 'Mind', I AM 'Consciousness'")
"By virtue of its position, one is inherently different from the other."
Our Curious World of Mirror Images is an amazing book written by Titus Joseph, a counselor with a great passion for philosophy, it explains the history of ancient pre-Socratic philosophers, the Big-Bang theory, quantum physics, and cosmology. And how all of these topics related and shaped our lives as human beings.
This book consisted of 10 chapters and a bibliography, it begins with an introduction to few topics which are divided into subchapters includes symmetry and metaphysics. Then moved to Chapter 2, time to visits the group of pre-Socratic philosophers and how they put a foundation to modern Western metaphysics. In chapter 3, it is about space and time. Then in the next chapters, the author will discuss relativity, quantum theory, and the cosmos of spacetime. In chapter 7, Titus will explain positional symmetry and topics related to it. In the last chapter, the author features a few insights about religion and science.
Since the first time I saw this book, it quickly captures my attention to explore it. It is not an ordinary philosophy book. It offers a new perspective on how we look at our world and lives. It also discussed a few topics about science and how it mingles with the universe. I can say that this book narrates a heavy topic that only a few people can understand but plays an important role in our modern world. The topics are well arranged from A to Z. To deliver his messages, the authors using metaphors, some analogy, symbols, pictures, and illustrations to make it more clear. Few examples like, "Consider an egg lying on a table. The egg inadvertently rolls off the table and breaks. In this thought experiment, even if the egg broke then, as film rewinding, un-broke, did time reverse or did it move forward and repeat the story in a hiccup?."
For me, this book is very interesting because it features a few interesting terms. I had heard 1-2 of the terms but most of it, I never know until I read it. Positional symmetry, Fibonacci pattern, zone of intersection, speed of light, mechanism of instantiation, and more. Written in simple style but with many unusual terms that not all familiar with. But it what makes it is a wonderful work to read. To read this book, please open your mind broadly and set aside all differences first regardless of your background because it will bring you on a wonderful journey to understanding the universe better.
Few things make me interested in this book. First on religion and science topic. These two topics had been hot topics that were often debated by scientists, philosophers, experts, and academicians since the Age of antiquity until our millennium era. However, we cannot deny the fact that both religion and science serve humanity as our two most significant authorities on knowledge and its history. Honestly, I always wondered if religion and science can get along together like Yin and Yang or day and night concepts. Second, quantum physics. This topic is interesting to me but I always feel difficult to understand it more clearly until I found this book. The author features a quote about it from a world-renowned academician who is an expert in this topic which is the late Dr. Stephen Hawking. He had said that "quantum mechanics does not predict a single definitive result for an observation. Instead, it predicts several different possible outcomes and tells us how likely each of these is." Third, the zone of symmetry that lies on few things on Earth. Like the wings of butterflies and in fruits.
Finally, this book gives me some insights into understanding and appreciate the beauty of our world. Besides, the whole universe contains many mysteries that always mesmerized us as human beings. I remember a quote from an author, "the world seems dull, but in fact, it's filled with magical and mysterious rough gemstones. The novelist is equipped with the eyes to discover them." In this context, Titus Joseph as the author had succeeded to discover a few of the gemstones and transforms them into this wonderful work. This book also reminds me of Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder which helps us to understand the philosophy better. Who says philosophy is a tough subject and cannot be understood by most people? Because of that, I am not hesitant to give 5-star to it. Get a copy and get ready to embarks on an extraordinary journey!

'Our Curious World of Mirror Images" by Titus Joseph
My Thoughts....
"Our Curious World of Mirror Images' was a 'whole new way of looking at our world.' The author really gives us a theory of some profound scientific facts which will center with philosophy. In a well written, structured, logical and easy to read, the reader will find many interesting illustrations that will keep you on the course of this read as one will receive some complex concept experience. Readers be ready to learn a lots about science as well as philosophy and if you are able to look at life in a different way, you maybe even get a lot more. This was indeed one interesting read...that sheds new light on what it means to be human in a world in which all things are interrelated."
I liked this from a quote from the author... from page 3...
"If you are serious about your life and read this book with an open and thoughtful mind, you will experience signs in your personal reality that will confirm fro you -in your own private views-that this new paradigm is real and thus meaningful to your life. Your way of thinking may even change as a consequence of experiencing meaningful perceptions affirming the knowledge disclosed in this book." -Titus-
And, I will say from just reading that from the author I was able to look at the world in a all new way. Would I recommend "Our Curious World of Mirror Images?" YES!
I came across this book after it was recommended to me by @BookTasters This book made me ponder upon this world by a pretty different way. It is one of its own kind, like The Secret it makes you, drives you to think about this world with a new point of view, and that it is not a mere world, it is actually something which gives us Purpose. As the author told me that, I may have to read it twice or thrice to understand it, and if I would have not been interested in Physics, I would have read it ten times to understand it. It is deep, and discusses things from the formation of universe, and takes you to the question of why, where, and when? Drops fascinating theories, which makes you laugh and wonder at the same time, and then you keep wondering and thinking. The author takes you to this incredible journey of the amalgam of science and metaphysics by the telling of real life events, and you read it as a story and it gives you something to think about for your life. It is written like a textbook, defines every term first, explains by incorporating real life examples. you can even understand Quantum Physics after reading this.
Science is everything that your naked eyes can or cannot see. Thus, making the world beautiful the way it is. This book could bring us a better overview of life. It taught us lots of different scientific facts in which we can understand better in many different ways. With its immersing our inner science geeky selves. This focuses on Philosophy, making us understand better in a well-structured context. It inspires us that we can only see its natural beauty if we know how it works. This is good for students because it is easier to understand and also stated with examples. I really am a believer that science is really beautiful and complex. It is really worth reading. Interesting and enriching. The world is magnificent in its own special way.
This book is amazing!!! It gives you a fresh perspective on physics also the world around us . Honestly you will get such a refreshing feeling from reading it especially if you are into physics, because you will look at it from a new window and it will put so many things in perspective.
It is not an easy book to read, I had to go through some parts more than once, and I think If I weren't interested in physics I would have never been able to read it. It helped me find a relation between physics, cosmology and philosophy, specially philosophy. The conclusion at the end needed a lot of explanation from the author, specially when it came to explaining the mirror image theory. It is a book that you need to read for a second time.
Going into this book, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought it’d be meaningful quotes and ideologies to live by, but it was so much more than that. It offered a different perspective to everything we know. There were so many parts of the book that I feel like I still have to go over, again and again, to truly understand it. It’s not a book to binge-read, but it’s something to consume with so much attention. I love how it brought concepts of science and philosophy together to form a very interesting read. I highly recommend it.
This book is amazing. For a first, I've seen an author so well researched in Philosophy, Science and Metaphysics, I got this book thinking it to be a self help book, probably law of attraction mumbo jumbo, but boy I was wrong. Will have to read it again perhaps to get clarity on a couple of things but here's my review below.
This is more of a study material and not a Novel or self help, it should actually be included in the science journal, the author has put in a lot of efforts and absolutely speaks from a blend of scientific, philosophical and logical perspective, all terms and ideologies are examined and explained along with their source which slowly blends into the authors concept of symmetry and the universe. This made me rethink of how the universe works and we don't really live in a static world of days and nights. I am glad I came across this book, will be re-reading it again and refer to the sources for more. Overall its a brilliant read.

Titus Joseph said in the introduction of his book«. Our Curious World of Mirror Images» : "Every good book must contain its own reward." And i think the best reward that can give it to this book is to read it and understand every point that the writer trying to make it more clearer to everyone. This book must read intelligently and quietly he said in the book:"metaphysics is the path in philosophy that seeks to understand how things come into being." in my humble opinion the writer trying with his own philosophy to explain our world in beautiful way, even its a hard sometimes to get the hidden meaning he trying to give it to his reader.. I really love Our curious world of mirror images and recommend it to every one loves philosophy and hard books Sara slim
I think this book is a thought-provoking and unique look into the structure of our universe. Joseph's take on the symmetrical makeup of nature provides a plausible theory on the known and unknown, and does fulfill its claim of changing the way one views their own understanding of the world. I do wish that more of the novel had been dedicated to the explanation of Positional Symmetry, however it is understandable that the provided background information is needed in order for the author to establish their claim. This is a short but interesting read.
Really well written book on the science behind symmetry. Pretty intense if you aren't naturally gifted at science but explained well. Each idea is broken down and terms that people might be unfamiliar with are explained such as the section on zones of intersectionality. There are helpful diagrams and pictures that give clear examples of what is being discussed. The 'Universe of Trees' section for example shows where the intersectionality zone is and how the tree limbs mirror the roots.
"Challenging, thought-provoking and quite stimulating. It is clear that the author did his research and even if I found some of the ideas to be esoteric, I can't deny that I was fascinated by the book, infact I read it twice just to have a balanced opinion.
What a fascinating book. Titus Joseph takes us through the whole history of philosophy and science, with the aim to introduce the reader to the concept of 'positional symmetry (requisite mirror image). I am not going to lie, I struggled with some parts - due to my poor grasp of philosophy and especially science. Joseph's goal is to bring the reader into a different way of looking at the world and existence/meaning. We don't live in a world of chaos and random meaninglessness; rather, he shows how the world is abound with symmetry - from the animals right down to seeds - all the way to DNA molecules. Thus, as Joseph says - there is balance and harmony in the universe. Joseph shares the start of this journey in understanding 'how things came into being.' He shows how this quest is central to western civilization, by analysing the ancient philosophers, with their concepts of the 'arche' (the beginning) and wisdom. Of course, this quest is central to all human civilization. He shows how the 'scientific community affirms that symmetry is at the foundation of the laws of physics.' He then argues how the source of how all things came into existence in fact lies in 'mirror image poles intersecting simultaneously, interacting in space and time.' Again, this took me a while to wrap my head around, but Joseph gave a few examples, from the simplest to the most complex organisms on earth. So, he shows an image of a watermelon, their mirror image poles and the zone of intersection. Likewise the tomato, the tree (the branch and the root being the poles, the trunk being the zone of intersection, and then the tree - where the reality is truly manifest). Reality, Joseph says, is 'a continuum and it is multi-dimensional,' with some poles existing 'seemingly independent of their mirror image pole,' for example - the male and female in the animal kingdom. Thus when these two poles unite as one, new creatures are of course created - again showing how positional symmetry is the first principle. Sports, war - even the humble basket - all manifest this principle. And then there is the Bible - with the Alpha and Omega in the Book of Revelation - and the zone of intersection. An example from the east is the popular Ying Yang - again as Joseph shows - based on the 'interplay between the mirror image poles called yin and yang.' Yin Yang are opposites, yet move into each other constantly. Thus comes the philosophy of Daoism - a way of looking at the world of harmony - that which is the 'underlying source and power of the universe.' In the end, Joseph explores the relationship between science and religion and whether the two can be reconciled. By understanding and recognizing the symmetrical perfection of the universe and creation, Joseph argues that - as the universe is one - 'so it must be conscious,' as it must know what it is doing - otherwise - why such perfect symmetry and order? The implications of this are hence significant, and challenge traditional concepts of 'God' - with Joseph stating that 'God is consciousness.' Joseph shows very clearly the interconnection between all existence on earth - from the molecule to the human being to the galaxies. The brain cells themselves resemble the cosmic web. The implications of this are profound. That this universe and existence must be honoured, revered and respected. That nothing is random and humans are intimately interconnected with the whole cosmos. That we must look at the world through holistic eyes, recognizing our mirror image yet our difference. That the principle, or the foundation of our universe is symmetry and mirror images, and this should provide meaning, order and beauty to our existence. I commend Joseph on this work and I hop my description gives it some justice.
Our Curious Worlds Of Mirror Images by Titus Joseph is a phenomenal book of philosophy that started conception in 1987 but finally came into the limelight in 2013. It holds transforming secrets of how the universe exists. Using a new paradigm called positional symmetry (requisite mirror image), it exposes the existence of distinct creations because nature frames its works using mirror images.
Similarly, the book uses metaphysics to seek an understanding of how things come into being-- the first principle from which reality emerges. Might I say this book is a remedy to the ills of society? Certainly! The book provides logical rationales that untangle the complexes of this materialistic world. Amidst the heavy science, religion, and philosophy, it infuses tips to foster the well-being of the body and mind.
There's a wide array of inputs from great philosophers on the speed of light, zone of intersection, quantum theory, cosmos of space and time, positional symmetry, and so on. To prove Joseph’s claims, he included substantial amounts of references to back his points.
One thing I truly relished in this book is how the chapters had a solid connection. It all made sense. The flow of ideas, the synchronization, it was flawlessly penned down. It is germane to note that this book is not a book for leisure. It encompasses thought-provoking topics meant to unlock our thinking prowess. Do you want the truth? Here is the truth.
My favorite chapter was Joseph’s attempt to create a link between religion and science. He explicitly labeled the connection using conflict, independence, dialogue, integration, and NOMA (Non-overlapping magisteria).
Ultimately, I had a pleasurable reading experience, one filled with enormous learning and unlearning. I could not find any error or reason to deduct a star. Hence, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
This book is totally different what i have read in few months and i have chosen it due to the titular so it gives justice to that.It takes you through the views of ancient philosophy on the creation of matter then it gives a background in the Cosmos, General Relativity and Newton, and you may wonder where this is all going. Its well written, structured, logical and easy to read .The reader will find many interesting illustrations that will keep the reader engaged all due its course and see the world in a new ways that is all things are interconnected . So yes i will recommend this book who is looking for a different taste .
This book is very mind stimulating taking the reader to journey of cosmology ,universe , Quantum world and element present in the our universe responsible in shaping the reality we live. The author of the book has done deep and thorough research on topic and presents her argument with new ideas. It's definitely a good read.
The book is doing lot of things - explaining various basics of physics to get better understanding of the way working of world is explained in science and also putting forward his own theory. But that's what doesn't work for the author - too much happening, more quantity and less quality. While it's understandable to give a background of the various other proved theories, I felt very less content was dedicated to his own theory in comparison. For while background knowledge would be helpful, I still think if the reader is from a non physics background he or she might find the read a tad bit tedious despite the tremendous efforts by the author to make it easy to read. Overall an average read. Although I must mention, I absolutely loved how references for each chapter were mentioned as footnotes after each one.
