Wow. This book took me totally by surprise. I normally DO NOT read "Chick Lit". I read a few Nicholas Sparks books, but that is as far as I go in the genre. The author is local and I met her at an event raising money for my daughter's school, so I bought the book out of a sense of obligation. I figured I'd give it a try, and I'm glad I did.

After the first two chapters, I thought it was definitely not the type of book I usually read, and assumed I'd get bored with it. But I found myself picking up the book over and over to find out what was happening next. It took me back to my college days, when I couldn't wait to get back to my place to turn on "As the World Turns" or "Guiding Light". I was so caught up in these characters that I couldn't let them go. I can't wait for the second book.... I think this series will be a guilty pleasure for me!

The character development was excellent in this book; I really felt like I knew them all personally. This story was very well written and I will definitely read more from this writer.
