Not the best textbook
Not a mention of quality curricula which is grounded in literature over creating your own
As a young student this would be overwhelming
The role of the teacher and the role the environment has is limited

I appreciated the connections with theorists in ways which were easily understood

There are 8 literacy goals compared with the ten essential literacy practices Michigan now promotes.

There are better resources available
