BlessedMusic to ConstructionMusic had always been my first career choice until I was told how rare it was to see musical jobs posted at the unemployment office. Encouraged by my sister Cynthia and my mother Jessie, I enrolled into the carpentry program at the Louisiana Vocational trade school. As soon as I completed the program, I went to work for a small construction company. After two years of hard work, and many bosses, I became a contractor. “While making mistakes is common, fixing them is uncommon” was my motto. As a contractor, I would perform my regular duties, while studying repeated problems, turning my findings into formulas. Although most of the information in this book came from many years of research, some also came from seeing contractors repeat the same mistakes over and over again. I am currently teaching carpentry on the Delgado Community College Technical Division team.
