Excellent for what it is. Very simple and practical. Look elsewhere for discussions of the theological underpinnings of hospitality. Has great suggestions for training greeters, including sample exercises.
The author is quite tech savvy in a way I haven't seen before. For instance, he illustrates the book with Twitter quotes about church greeters, and many are both funny and insightful.
I think this book will be very helpful for the work we are doing.
for anyone in a Lead position, of a hospitality ministry, this is a must read! Great, common sense approach to Greeting. lots of insight and ideas for developing a solid greeter team as well as ideas for developing written policy. A quick, easy read when needed!
As a new Greeter Leader, I have found this book, and the additional resources that are referenced to be very valuable. I appreciate that this information recognizes multiple traditions, church sizes, and different cultures. The focus on hospitality fits right in with what my church is currently promoting. Thank you for providing all this information.
Aside from the constant commercials for his website it was helpful. The chapters seem to be written first as independent works that needed better editing but helpful nonetheless. Good ideas in the appendices.
I just started reading this book and it is so awesome I can't wait to share this with my Greeters for training in Jan. 2014. My Pastor said never stop learning and stay focus on the vision.
